****WRAP UP OF SURFING CONDITIONS**** Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the one of a kind baliwaves.com surf and weather report live from your No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well yesterday the boys and I from Home Base decided on doing another late afternoon run over to Serangan on the east Coast to catch the glass off that has been happening. So excuse the quality of these current photos as there wasn’t much light available.
Checking the Outer Reefs of Tuban here on the West side in the morning surfing conditions were pretty miserable. 1-2ft of choppy on-shore waves between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, due to the wind coming out of the SW @ 4-7knot.
But by late afternoon the wind was tending back to the NW so conditions were looking good for a late arvo surf at Serangan. As you can almost see in these photos wave height was still holding in the 2-3ft (waist to head high) range. And surfing conditions clean and glassy with just a hint of off-shore wind thrown in. Not too bad crowd wise either with only something like 35 surfers in the water and plenty of waves coming through. Could be worth another session over there later this afternoon.
Tide wise today the first is going to be a 1.6mtr High @ 9.00Am and then a 0.8mtr Low @ 3.00Pm.
I haven’t been down for a look at the ocean this morning, currently 7.30Am here in Bali but we have another overcast sky with the wind light out of the West @ 2-4knot. According to the swell charts I don’t think there is any need to rush down there either with wave height predicted to be similar to yesterday. Maybe even a touch smaller. The good news is that tomorrow we should see a slight bump in wave height so fingers crossed.
The good guys from the Macaroni Surf Resort up in the Mentawai Islands have also sent us through an “end of season” wrap up and included some super special deals for anyone wanting to get in early and book for the coming 2009 season. So check that out on the Macaroni Report under Surf Reports.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you will find that 1AU$=Rp7,100 – 1US$=Rp10,550 give or take 100 Rupiah.
