****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Good morning crew and welcome back to your baliwaves.com for todays news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Todays morning surf recon of the Outer Reefs here on the West Coast of Bali was looking pretty sad with only half to one foot of wave height showing between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Hopefully there’ll be a little more size over on the East Coast when we head over there later this afternoon. So check back in later on ok.
Surfing conditions this morning were reasonably clean with the wind only light out of the West @ 1-3knot. On-shore along the West Coast but straight off-shore over on the West Coast between Nyang Nyang’s and Keramas.
Tide wise the first is going to be a 1.7mtr High @ 10.00Am and then a 0.8mtr Low @ 3.30Pm.
Looking for a wave today the East Coast will be the place to look and we’ll probably head over to Serangan or maybe even Keramas later this afternoon. Although I was out trolling / live baiting for Spanish Mackeral off Uluwatu yesterday and there was half a dozen surfers in the water. It was on-shore but there was still a solid 2-3ft+ of swell hitting the Main Peak.
I’ll also post some photos of the results of my little 2 day fishing binge on our Fishing Report page in a couple more hours. So if you’re a surfer / fisho coming to Bali you had better check this out.
Weather wise we’ve had more rain through the night and early hours of the morning. Right now at 11.00Am the sky is still cloudy and grey with the temperature sitting around the 26-27 degree Celsius range.
The good guys from the Macaroni Surf Resort up in the Mentawai Islands have also sent us through an “end of season” wrap up and included some super special deals for anyone wanting to get in early and book for the coming 2009 season. So check that out on the Macaroni Report under Surf Reports.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you will find that 1AU$=Rp7,100 – 1US$=Rp10,550 give or take 100 Rupiah.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
