****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** G’Day folks and welcome back to your baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report bringing you all the latest on the current conditions from your favourite little holiday island of Bali.
Ok so I wandered down to the beach to do the surf recon of the Outer Reefs this morning at 8.00AM to find wave height has dropped off even more and only showing in the 1ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Wind direction was coming out of the NW @ 2-4knot so surfing conditions were still fairly clean and smooth. But would be even more cleaner and more smoother over on the East Coast. We can expect the wind to swing more to the SSW as the morning rolls on though.
Tide wise today the first was a 0.1mtr Low @ 7.00AM and then we will have a 1.9mtr High around the 1.00PM mark.
Looking for a wave today you could find a little something anywhere between Nyang Nyang on the far southern end of the island all the way up to Keramas at Gianyar. I was taking to local stand out surfer “Betet” (Quicksilver Indonesia) earlier and he was in fact heading up to Keramas this morning. He had insider info from his friends already up there and said there were waves in the shoulder to head high class.
Weather wise today no sign of rain but we do have some light and high cloud cover that should burn off by midday making for another classic hot and sunny day on the holiday island.
Swell Forecast 1st Dec – 6th Dec : Well unfortunately for now we are still in the grip of the yo-yo effect and can only expect to see wave height in the head to head high plus range at best over the next few days to come. Then around Thursday hopefully we will get a small spike in size through till Friday before dropping back down into the waist to head high class at the better locations over the coming weekend.
Speaking of “Betet” and I’m sure that any of you that have seen any of the numerous surfing DVD’s on the market that feature Indonesia would have seen Betet going off. As a matter of fact Betet also lives with us here at Home Base. And on the 4th of December will be tying the knot with his girlfriend here in Bali. We will be attending the ceremony and I’ll try and get you some photos of the happy occasion on the day.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you will find that 1AU$=Rp7,900 – 1US$=Rp12,100 give or take 100 Rupiah.
