****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Hi folks and this is how it was today in Bali. Like I mentioned in this mornings up-date the boys from Home Base and I made our first stop off at Uluwatu and didn’t have to look any further. The old saying “it’s not who you know it’s whats you know…”
We made the trip down South with the rain pissing down and the wind was blowing hard out of the West. But we kept going, hoping that after the rain storm passed we’d score some light and glassy conditions. That’s exactly what we got. On arrival wave height was hitting the 3ft or head high range and surfing conditions were clean and glassy with only 10 other surfers in the water.
The waves were a nice relief and the clean conditions lasted through until around 1.30Pm when the wind started to pick back up out of the W-WSW. That’s when the crowd started to turn up as we left there would have been close to 35 surfers and we passed more in transit to on the way home.
Tune in again tomorrow afternoon as we have already made some plans to go search for more waves but in a different location.
****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Hello crew, and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for our Sunday Session on whats happening surf and weather wise here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Well it’s a pity the swell forecasts didn’t deliver what they predicted because yesterday afternoon surfing conditions were pristine on the Outer Reefs with absolutely no wind but alas, no swell.
This mornings 7.00Am surf check of the Outer’s was looking pretty much the same as they have over the last month, 0-1ft waves lapping onto the reef between Kuta Reef and Airport Left.
Surfing conditions were not too bad with the wind coming lightly out of the W-SW at 1-4knot.
Tide wise today we will have a 0.6mtr Low @ 10.00Am and then a High of 2.0mtrs @ 4.30Pm.
Looking for a wave today , we’ll the boys and I are going to start off with a quick look at Uluwatu if the wind holds off. Otherwise we’ll head for Serangan or Secrets at Padang Galak.
Weather wise it was looking pretty good before we had a rain storm blow in from the WSW and drop it’s load on us. But now at 9.30Am the rain has passed and the sky is also starting to clear up. No doubt we’ll be feeling a hot and humid temperature of around 30 degree’s Celsius by midday.
Photo Up-date ; Our good old friend Scotto has sent us through some photos and a report from the Duranbah (just around the headland from the Super Bank) in Australia. So make sure you check out those while you are waiting for me to get back with some freash Bali photos later this afternoon.
Don’t forget you can drop us an email through the “Contact” link if you have any questions that might help your next vist to the holiday island run a bit smoother.
Swell Forecast for the coming week, isn’t looking much better than what we have had over the last month. More micro to small waves, hopefully cracking the head high class if we are lucky.
The good guys from the Macaroni Surf Resort up in the Mentawai Islands have also sent us through an “end of season” wrap up and included some super special deals for anyone wanting to get in early and book for the coming 2009 season. So check that out on the Macaroni Report under Surf Reports.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you will find that 1AU$=Rp7,585 – 1US$=Rp10,650 give or take 100 Rupiah.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
