****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Thanks for stopping by for your baliwaves.com daily surf and weather rundown.
This mornings surf recon of the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still showing enough swell to be producing waves in the waist to head high plus range between Kuta reef and Airport left. But with the wind coming out of the West around the 4-8knot range. The boys staying with us here at Home Base made a midday run over to Serangan once again and phoned through that wave height over there was still a solid 3-4ft+. But the wind was starting to swing further around to the SW – SSW and more cross shore.
I took another look at the Outer Reefs at 2.00Pm and confirmed that the wind by this time was pretty much coming out of the SSW and now gusting into the 10-15knot class. So I was surprised to see that there were surfers in the water on Kuta Reef and 2nd Reef. But I suppose these guys were staying locally and would rather surf the on-shore waves out there rather than deal with the numbers at Serangan. Not too mention the grid locked traffic that will last until the 2nd-3rd of Jan ’09.
Tide wise today pretty much the same as yesterdays with another 0.1mtr low to start the day and then a 2.0mtr High just after midday.
Weather wise it hasn’t been the best Bali could offer that’s for sure. The sun was out for a few hours earlier before the sky clouded back over this afternoon and delivered some rain. Plus there’s a big chance of more to fall before days end.
Swell Forecast ; Now this is a tricky one cause I’m only going on what I can make out of someone else’s predictions. The charts are currently calling for wave height in the 6-8ft face range but today it’s way bigger than that. Then they are calling for a new system to show on around next Thursday at 8-10ft face value that should run through till Saturday. Then even further out around the start of following week there could be another swell heading our way.
