****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Good morning my fine friends of surfing, and yes I am alive, and yes it is time to bring you all up to date on whats been happening surf and weather wise here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
First thing today I was off to my local Doctor to get my wounds cleaned and appraised. And it was all good news and I’m on now on recovery road. BTW, how much would your doctor charge you for a minor type surgery ? mine charged me Rp25,000 (around US$2.25). From the there I made my first visit to the beach to find wave height breaking in the 2-3ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left But with the wind gusting out of the West @ 10-12knot and totally on-shore.
Looking for a wave you’d find plenty of options to choose from between Nusa Dua all the way up to Keramas. Depending on what you prefer.
Weather wise out there today we have a clear, hot and sunny day for the holiday crew. Headin for a maximum of 33 degree’s Celius and right now at 9.30am she’s already sitting on 28 C.
Headline News , Well once again I read in Australia’s biggest waste of paper (Sydney Morning Herald) Earth Quake’s rock Indonesia. Man I tell ya, this crew is trying it’s best to discourage Aussie’s from visiting Bali and spend their tax filled dollars at home. First there was an iminant terrorist reprisal, then Rabies and now a earth quake in Papua. I think everyone know’s that Papua is closer to Australia than it is to us here in Bali. What’ll they use next. Maybe something like “On-shore winds rack the West Coast of Bali” I personally don’t think anything will ever stop real surfers from coming here. But they sure do scare the shit out of the average tourist.
Ok, of course this is just my opinion so don’t take it all too seriously now. The good news is we’ll be back soon with more surf info and freash photo’s etc etc to help you get through a boring day at the office etc etc.
Don’t forget you can drop us an email through the “Contact” link if you have any questions that might help your next vist to the holiday island run a bit smoother.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$15.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
The good guys from the Macaroni Surf Resort up in the Mentawai Islands have also sent us through an “end of season” wrap up and included some super special deals for anyone wanting to get in early and book for the coming 2009 season. So check that out on the Macaroni Report under Surf Reports.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
G-Land ; “SPECIAL OFFER FOR BALIWAVES.COM VIEWERS, 10% DISCOUNT” thanks to the G-land Surf Camp for sending us some new photos from G-land. We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk. If it’s somewhere a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
Don’t forget if any of you lot want to grab some photos or video footage surfing here in Bali and we can easily arrange it for ya. Or if ya check out the Wotashot.com banner you might even find a photo of you on your last trip to Bali.
