****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE**** Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves.com daily run down on surf and weather conditions here on your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Finally some new photos for you guys and girls to check out, hey, and don’t think it hasn’t been frustrating for me not being able to deliver over the last week due to my poor motorcycling effort on New Years Eve. I still couldn’t push the pedal to the metal today but I had Dewa Made drive the boys from here at Home Base and myself up to Keramas this morning so I could blast away with my camera.
I didn’t get a chance to do a surf recon of the Outer Reefs of Tuban this morning but the wind was freash out of the West North West and on-shore so we decided on Keramas over on the East Coast.
We turned up around the 8.45Am mark to find a solid crowd of 25 surfers in the line-up. Surfing conditions were clean with off-shore wind @ 4-7knot and wave height in the waist to head high class. Then around 11.30 Am we had a solid rain storm blow in out of the South that turned surfing conditions to mush and quickly emptied the line-up. This only lasted for an hour and then the wind switched back to clean off-shore and only 5 surfers left.
Tidewise we had a 1.4mtr High @ 8.00Am and then only running out for a 1.0mtr Low around the 1.30Pm mark.
One of our guests staying with us is 13yr old Shawn Green from Margeret River down in West Oz (photo #1,2,8). And I think we’ll be seeing a lot more of this kid in the future.
We also managed to shoot 5 minutes of digital video and I’ll sort through that later this afternoon and see if I can edit you a video clip or two.
Weather wise today it’s been a mixed bag of sunshine and rain. Right now at 4.00Pm the sky is still pretty grey and there’s a big chance of more rain to come this evening.
Also don’t forget to check out the new surf reports and photos from the Mentawai Islands and from Australia’s Super Bank on the Gold Coast .
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Tuban you’ll find that 1AU$=Rp7,850 and 1US$=Rp10,999 give or take 100Rupiah depending on vender.
Other than that little lot, we hope you all have a great day, even if your not here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Don’t forget you can drop us an email through the “Contact” link if you have any questions that might help your next vist to the holiday island run a bit smoother.
We still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$15.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about.
