January 26th 2009. Bali Indonesia.
Continuing with the initiative to give back to the Balinese community and tourists that visit the beautiful “Island of the Gods” PT Quiksilver Indonesia has once again teamed up with Coca-Cola Bottling Indonesia to “Keep the Beaches Safe” and supply uniforms for all of the Balinese Lifeguards for 2009.
The Bali Beach Clean Up was the first initiative to hit the beach, and supplying a tractor and beach cleaning unit has already made it’s mark in keeping the southern beaches of Bali in the Kuta area clean. This latest initiative to work with the Bali Lifeguards to keep the beaches safe for international tourists and locals alike was the next step.
Quiksilver Sports Marketing Manager Jake Paterson stated, “Bali is a beautiful place, people come here to enjoy the sun, surf and beaches, so to keep it in a beautiful and safe state is very important for tourism. As long as the beaches are clean and safe they’ll keep coming back to Bali.”
Mr Ketut Ipel, (Secretary Balawista Badung )
“We are very happy with our new relationship with Quiksilver and Coca- Cola. We would like to thank them a lot, and we look forward to working with them to help keep the beaches of Bali safe.”
i am an american living in hawaii and i want to become a beach lifeguard in bali. can anyone tell me how that can be done?
thanks
Basically it is only locals that work as professional life guards in Bali. Im sure you could volanteer your time in some way or another depending on your leval of training. They are quite poorly funded so I dont think they could afford to employ foriegners.
