AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE
Well so much for strong the strong Westerly wind @ 10-12knots and for a hot and humid day. Something like 30 minutes after I loaded this mornings up-date the weather turned to shite. Now @ 4.00Pm we have a WSW wind reaching gusts of up to 30knot+ and rain, rain and more rain. I’m staying in doors !!
MORNING SURF UP-DATE
Good morning surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves for the run down on whats happening surf and weather wise here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Well yesterday conditions were pretty rough here along Bali’s West Coast and from all reports gathered Keramas on the East Coast was the best wave on offer. Even though wave height was only in the head high range and around 20 surfers in the water.
This morning my 7.30Am surf recon of the Outer Reefs was looking like wave height had suffered another drop in size from yesterday. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was down to 1-1ft+. Wind direction is blowing strong out of the West @ 10-12knot+ so it’s pretty much un surfable along the West Coast again today.
Looking for a wave today it’s going to have to be back over on the East Coast and my pick would be to head for Keramas for the best quality. Or slug it out at Serangan or at Geger beach / Nusa Dua.
Tidal info for today, we will have a 0.6mtr Low @ 9.00Am and then she’ll be running back up for a 2.2mtr High around 3.00Pm
Weather wise this morning it was flood city after some heavy rain through the night. Now @ 11.00Am there’s still a lot of cloud blowing around up-stairs but there’s also some sunny breaks. Heading for a hot and humid temperature of around 29 degree’s Celsius.
Interesting news dept: I was contacting by a group of good people who are in a way helping dispose of Bali’s huge plastic problem by recycling it into some nice looking products. Take a look for yourself at www.bombasticplastix.com
Swell forecast; At last it looks like we will get some decent swell again. According to the latest swell prediction guys we should start to see a new swell hitting our reefs around late Wednesday through till Friday. There’s also a bit more still in transit to Bali behind this.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Tuban you’ll find that 1AU$=Rp7,250 and 1US$=Rp11,250 give or take 100Rupiah depending on vender.
