AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE
G’Day crew and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com to see whats been happening here on your favourite holiday destination of Bali.
First off I just want to mention that even though the “Rabbies” threat in Bali has passed early this morning the local community (Balinese) were out on the streets and beach’s shooting (poison darts) any dog that they saw. I was too late to make it down the beach in time to save my two adopted Bali dogs that sleep under my boat or any of the other friendly dogs that guard our boats at night down on the beach. What happened to the “I love Bali dogs” groups that say they are working to save and protect the dogs of Bali ? Just a shame. Why were they shot with lethal poison and not anti Rabbies vaccine. I suppose I’m just a softie when it comes to animals.
Surfwise today there’s nothing at all happening here along Bali’s West Coast, I’d have to say that wave height between Balian and Uluwatu would be at best 1-2ft at the better locations and to seal that deal the wind howling out of the WSW and on-shore up to 18knot. I’d also have to imagine with the amount of swell that we have around Bali today you’d even be hard pressed to find a decent sized wave over on the East Coast.
Tide wise today we had a 0.1mtr Low @ 6.00Am and then a solid 2.5mtr High @ midday.
Weather wise the day started off with a cloud filled sky that delivered some rain through until 6.45Am and since then we’ve had a mixture of cloud and blue sky. Hot and humid with a maximum temperature of around 30 degree’s Celsius.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Tuban you’ll find that 1AU$=Rp7,600 and 1US$=Rp11,990 give or take 100Rupiah depending on vender.
Best Regards from the No.1 surfing holiday destination that’s got it all, BALI, see ya’s here in 2009
