****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy crew and thanks for checking out the baliwaves.com for the latest indepth surfing and weather info from here on the happy little holiday island of Bali. And SELAMAT HARI RAYA GALUNGAN to all the Balinese surfers scattered around the globe tuning in today.
I just thought I’d let ya’s know, even though it was great to get over to G-land for a 4 day break the amount of new photos, video and other material I gathered is going to keep me doing 16hr days for the rest of this week.
This mornings surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have maybe crept up a notch and now showing in the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Kuta Reef was peeling off perfect shaped micro waves in the knee to knee high plus range Middle Reef was breaking in the waist to chest high plus range with no visible surfers in the line up. But Airport Left had some fun sized waist to head high waves that looked fun enough, around 15 surfers on it.
Surfing conditions here along Bali’s West Coast today are reasonably clean but with the wind coming out of the WSW @ 2-4knot.
Tidal info; the first tide today was a 0.6mtr Low @ 8.00Am and then we will have a 2.3mtr High around the 2.00Pm mark
Weather wise out there today we have a pretty full blue sky, shaping up for a very hot one with an expected top temperature of around 33 degree’s Celsius.
Looking for a wave today; Conditions are clean enough to still be surfing here along the West Coast and I’m sure Uluwatu would have a few head to head high plus waves. Over on the East Coast you would find the cleanest conditions (off-shore wind) at Serangan. But there would still be a few other locations worth a check.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you will find 1US$=Rp11,900 — 1AU$=Rp7,800 give or take 50 Rupiah depending on vendor.
Up-Dates; You will find new surf reports from Macaroni’s Resort and the Kandui Resort up in the Mentawai islands on their respective surf report pages, so check em out before you sign off.
Ok folks that’s us for now and with a new swell expected to start showing some time in the next 48hrs ya had better stay tuned. I’ll also be having a shot at editing the G-Land video footage today so keep an eye out for that soon.
Slim
