****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hi crew, well we dis get off to a late start today so thanks for tuning into the baliwaves.com for the latest info on surfing and weather conditions to come out of the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This mornings surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to still be in the micro class. Nothing happening on Kuta or Middle Reefs and only a knee to waist high wave hitting Airport Left. At the time wind direction was coming out of the North @ 3-5knot. So we decided to give the wind a chance to swing and then head down to Uluwatu where these current photos were taken.
Tidal info for today was for another solid 2.6mtr High @ noon and then a 0.1mtr Low @ 6.00pm.
When we pulled up at Uluwatu wave height was still showing in the 2-3ft+ class (waist to head high plus). But with the tide quickly filling in for that big 2.6mtr High the waves were pretty fat and full but still some ok little peaks hitting the Main Peak out the front of the cliff side cafes. Crowd wise there were only 12 surfers in the water at first but as the tide peaked and become even fatter the number soon jumped to around 30. The wind did switch briefly to the ESE and straight off-shore but then turned even further around coming out of the SSE and cross/off-shore. The low tide Racetrack section was also showing promise for the late afternoon tube session.
Our sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp said that wave height at G-Land today was also in the 2-3ft+ range at Money Tree’s and no one in the water at 8.45am
Weather wise, blue sky / sunshine, with a maximum temperature of aropund 33 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Forecast; hhmmm, lets just hope the forecaster are still getting it all wrong. What they are saying is that we can’t really expect wave height to exceed the head high range until towards the end of next week.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that 1US$=Rp11,350 — 1AU$=Rp7,700
