Today I had a few things to organise as I am headed back to the beautiful island paradise of Bali shortly. Thinking that the waves were going to be too small to run the contest I decieded to get business out of the way. I was headed home when I heard on the radio that the the Roxy contest was running at 2ft Dbah so I hurried home to get the camera.
I arrived on the beach in time to catch the second last heat of round one. So I set up and hoped that they would run into round two. That didn’t happen as it came over the P.A that competition was going to be put on hold for the rest of the day. Conditions were pretty small 2ft but there was some nice shape to some of the waves. The two heats that I did see showed that the girls were ripping. Going for airs, revereses and pulling some very solid turns in the weak conditions. The judges awarding a perfect 10, a feat that even the guys didn’t achieve during there initial rounds.
Surf indicators do not look to promising for the next few days so we’ll have to wait and see what the call will be, and when they are going to run the next rounds.
Till next time. Scott
