****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves for the latest info on surfing and weather conditions here on the No.1 “got it all” surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This mornings 6.30am surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was still looking ok for a wave out there. Actual wave height was still showing in the 2-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, and maybe even up a touch on yesterdays size. The tide was still falling for an expected 0.9mtr Low that shouldn’t stop anyone surfing on any of the sections. Kuta Reef had 2 surfers in the water catching waves to themselves in the waist to waist high plus class. Middle Reef looked the pick of the Outers and there was a couple more surfers out there as well with waves pushing chest to head high and even the odd bigger set wave. Airports… it’s been over run and really it’s name should be changed to Japan Reef (my opinion). The next High tide will have a 2.1mtr peak and go down at 2.00pm.
Wind direction this morning was light out of the WNW @ 1-2knot and not strong enouigh to do any damage. Surfing conditions wre still clean and glassy. Hopefully we’ll get some East in the direction as the morning rolls on, making it more clean and off-shore.
Looking for wave today well as I mentioned there are waves here on the Outer Reefs and heading South you’d probably find similar size at Balangan and Uluwatu would be another foot or two bigger as the tide starts to run back in. The banks between Kuta “Half Way” down to Padma st haven’t been much good at all over the last month or so but further North along the beach you’d be able to find a beach break (if it hasn’t already been claimed by one of the 10,000 learn to surf schools)
Our daily sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was saying that wave height at G-land this morning was of 4 footers breaking on Kong and Money Tree’s with one lone surfer in the water at Kongs @ 7.00am.
Swell Forecast; Looking at the swell forecasters predictions for this part of the World they are calling in a small pulse of swell starting sometime in the next 24hrs or so that should take us through the weekend. Then looking towards the middle of next week we should get the goods with a much more solid swell hitting Bali and G-Land.
Weather wise today it’s more blue sky and sunshine heading for a top temperature of around 29 degree’s Celsius.
Up-Dates; Scotto was also down at Uluwatu yesterday swimming with his water housing and you can see Scott’s photos on our Reader’s Report page.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that, –1AU$=Rp7,750 — 1US$=11,000 — give or take a hundred Rupiah.
Ok crew have a good one and stay tuned to the one and only original Bali Surf Report cause we’ll be back with more surf and weather news as soon as there is any !
Cheers
Slim
