****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
G’Day folks and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com for your daily dose of whats happening surfing and weather wise here on the wave riddled holiday island of Bali.
And as expected my 7.0am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing a solid increase in wave height between Kuta reef and Airport Left. At this time of the morning the wind was still blowing light cross/on-shore coming out of the NW @ 3-6knot. But all the same surfing conditions were still clean enough for a paddle. Wave height was showing in the 3-5ft range with Middle Reef picking up the biggest sets. Kuta Reef and Airport Left were still pulling head to head high plus. The ESE-SE Tradewind did kick in around 9.30am.
I decided to set up my video camera on the still under construction second floor of the Pantai restaurant and try and get some footage of Kuta Reef for ya’s. I did manage to shoot around 12 minutes worth and as soon as I get it transfered and check it out I’ll see if it’s good enough to load ya’s up a new video clip. But in the mean time here’s 31 new photos that Scotto shot up at Canggu yesterday to tie ya’s over. I was a bit dissapointed with the waves on Kuta Reef, as the tide started to run back in wave height seemed to be backing off, down into the 2-3ft range and becoming less consistent, but I still think we got enough decent footage. Crowd wise there would have been at least 40 surfers in the line-up.
Our daily sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp was calling wave height in the doble to double head high plus sector on Money Tree’s and no surfers in the water at 7.00am. I also received another sms report from Lewis over at lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa calling wave height a very clean and off-shore head to head high plus but insanely crowded as usual.
Tidal info today is saying we had a 1.0mtr Low @ 9.00am and then only just running back in for a 1.9mtr High around 3.00pm
Weather wise, light rain through the pre dawn hours and then a partly cloudy, partly sunny day so far till 12.00 noon. Temperature wise it’s been a pretty mild 27-28 degree’s celsius.
Alrighty thats about all I know for today, but tune back in tomorrow as we’ll probably be down at a another different Bali location again seeing what we can find for ya’s.
Best Regards from Bali
Slim

Hey Andy, The boats virtually gone. There was no real salvage or environment friendly effort to remove her she was raped, pillaged and then burnt out.
