****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy crew and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for another days run down of surfing and weather conditions from here on your favourite little holiday island of Bali. I’d just like to welcome aboard our new local photographer who has provided these latest photos on baliwaves. And from now on we should be getting buffed out with a daily batch of photos from around Bali’s Bukit area. Plus we’ll be covering other locations as usual. And not too mention Scotto’s water shots when he’s mended up from his accident. As you know we do our best to publish only high quality photos not the digimatic stuff, so stick around it’s only getting bigger and better on baliwaves.com.
And things are on the look up for the lucky ones here in bali today. This mornings surf recon of the Outer reefs of Tuban was showing a nice little spike in wave height with 2-3ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. It’s also nice to see the ESE-SE Tradewind kicking back in providing clean off-shore wind from Kuta to Uluwatu. Kuta Reef would have been my pick for a paddle on the Outers this morning with a really consistent shoulder to shoulder high plus wave wrapping around the reef. Middle Reef was as usual slightly bigger with waves in the head to head high plus sector. Airport Left was also pretty consistent with waist to shoulder high waves cleanly hitting the reef. Middle Reef will be at it’s best through the early afternoon Low tide. Of course you’d be able to find waves right along Bali’s South West Coast today with Uluwatu attracting the most size and power.
Our daily sms from the G-land Surf Camp is calling 4-5 footers hitting Kongs and the top end of Money Tree’s. Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy (9.00am) with only two surfers in the water. I’d have to imagine now with the Tradewind winding up it would be absolutely smoking at G-Land.
I also managed to start loading up some photos into our May 09 Gallery and you’ll find over 180 images of the best waves so far this month with still more to come, so check them out.
Tidal info for today is saying we’ll have a 2.0mtr High @ 7.00am and then a 0.8mtr Low around 1.30pm.
Weather wise here in Tuban today we’ve got a return to blue sky and sunshine, expecting a maximum temperature of around 32 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Forecast; Hold onto your hats cause it’s coming our way. Expecting wave height to start getting bigger on Thursday and then Saturday into Sunday is looking like the biggest swell of the year, so far anyway.
The Dewi Sri “live seafood” restaurant here in Tuban is once again under the control of the original owner and back to serving up the freshest seafood in Bali. If you want to give it a try tell em baliwaves.com sent ya down to sample a free plate of their live prawns.
