***AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy friends and welcome back to your baliwaves.com daily surf and weather station for the goods on todays waves here on the holiday island of Bali. Once again thanks to the Hendra Surf Photography Team down at Uluwatu for these current photos.
Well this mornings surf check on the Outer reefs wasn’t looking to promising with only 1-2 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Even so by 8.45am there were quite a few takers out there looking for some wave related fun. But the crew and I from here at Home Base made a midday run down to Uluwatu to catch the low tide and the Racetrack smoking through at a very very hollow 3-4ft. I had my little 3 chip handy cam with me and managed to shoot 15 minutes worth of sick tube rides which I’ll try and edit up for ya’s tonite. Crowd wise down at Uluwatu today it was pretty mellow with only around 50+ surfers spread out between the Racetrack and Temple sections. Driving back home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there was only a 1-1ft+ wave breaking on Impossible’s and Pandang Padang was flat.
Surfing conditions today were absolutely perfect with the ESE-SE Tadewind blowing clean off-shore between Kuta and Uluwatu @ 7-10knot+.
Tidal info was saying we had a 2.1mtr High @ 7.00am and then a 0.7mtr Low around 2.00pm
Our daily sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp was calling wave height in the 4-5ft range peeling off on Money Tree’s all the way down to the Launching Pad, with only one surfer in the water at 7.45am.
Weather wise here in Bali it’s been another perfect holi type day. Blue sky and sunshine with a top temperature of around 33 degree’s Celsius.
Photo up-dates; we’ve dropped another bundle of images from G-land on our G-land report page. I’ve another bunch of bodyboarding photos ready to load up on your page as well. Plus don’t forget to check out the new VIDEO CLIP which should be on-line by tomorrow morning. But only if you like seeing surfers getting shacked off their heads !

Surf Double Sixes (between Legian and Seminyak) at high tide. It’s a beach break, best if you can catch it in the morning for the wind. Other than that, airport rights (catch a boat ride from Tuban) is off shore all day long but the reef is sharp. Up around Changgu (bit of a drive) you’ll find easy rights with a sand and rock bottom (mornings again for the wind). Forget about the peninsula, it’s all lefts and sharp reef. Good luck renting a fish. There’s surf shops everywhere but I’d bring my own.
