****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Best of the morning to all you surfers tuning back into the baliwaves.com for more news on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali. And thanks to Hendra and his photographic team for these latest photo gems from Uluwatu yesterday.
This morning I was up before the sparrows and down on the beach at 6.30am. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left has taken a bit of a dive today with only 1-2ft+ waves, and not much breaking at all between the sets. At the time the tide was still running out for a 0.7mtr Low set for 8.30am so only Middle Reef was worth the effort. And there were already 2 surfers in the line-up. Kuta Reef and Airport Left might have a few smallies for the grommets as the tide starts to push back in, but only in the waist high division. The next High Tide will be 1.9mtrs @ 2.00pm.
Surfing conditions this morning were clean and tidy with the ESE-SE off-shore Tradewind already doing it’s thing, gusting up to 10knot.
Looking for a wave today the best will be found down on the southern end of the island at Uluwatu. The beach breaks of Kuta and Legian might also be worth a look around mid afternoon on the top of the tide.
Weather wise today here in the Tuban / Kuta region we have a cool and cloudy start to the day. But we can expect to see some blue sky and sunshine by midday and a top temperature of around 29-31 degree’s Celsius.
Swell Forecast; Hmmm, well as ar as I can tell wave height is going to slowly fade further through out today and tomorrow. Then late Wednesday evening a small system is going to start to show but nothing to impressive size wise. Thursday see’s wave height in the 3-5ft+ (head to double head high plus) range at the better locations, more southern facing. Holding into Friday morning before starting to back off through out the day and into Saturday. Another small spike expected for Sunday, but only short lived and dying off toward the afternoon. Then it’s back to small conditions for Monday and Tuesday. Hopefully come Wednesday we’ll see a slightly better system producing waves back up in the 3-5ft+ range.
New Video Clip has been loaded and it features Kuta Reef and the Racetrack section of Uluwatu. So make sure ya take a look !!!
Here’s a few tips for any new visitors, 1/ don’t change your dollars to Rupiah at home, you’ll get a much better rate over here in Bali. 2/ If you need to change dollars at the airport when you arrive only change enough to get you to your hotel. The airport also has lower rates than on the street. 3/ Changing dollars with the money exchanging counters on the streets always use the vendors that display a “no commission fee” sign.
And don’t forget to drop me a line if your looking for some surfer friendly accommodation here in Bali. Right here at Home Base we have single rooms for US$15.00, US$18.00 couple’s & US$25.00 for a twin share room. All rooms have Air conditioning, hot and cold water, tv, refridgerator and large private bathroom. 300mtrs back from the beach in fron of the Outer reefs here in Tuban.
Ok crew have a good one what ever you’ve got happening today and hopefully we’ll see ya’s over here in Bali before to long.
