****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Good afternoon surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves.com for todays run down on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali. These latest photos are courtesy from our friends at Hendra Surf Photography down at Uluwatu.
Ok I was down on the beach at first light this morning to find wave height had dropped back off overnight but still showing in the 2-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. The tide was still running out at the time so Middle Reef was virtually the only section of reef that was surfable. But when I checked again at 10.30am as the tide was already starting to run back in there were a few waves hitting Airport left in the waist to head high sector and around 8 surfers out there. Byt this time Middle Reef had a solid looking crowd of at least 30 riders. Kuta Reef was smaller again at 1-2ft and only a handful of surfers out there.
Surfing conditions are clean but with the ESE-SE off-shore Tradewind gusting up to 18knot putting a little bit of chop on the face.
Tidal info is saying we had a 0.5mtr Low @ 7.30am and now she’s running back in for a 2.2mtr High set at 2.00pm
Weather wise it’s been a good start to the week with blue sky and sunshine. Currently the temperature is sitting on 29 degree’s @ 12.00 noon.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard, twin share and fan bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
And don’t forget to drop me a line if your looking for some surfer friendly accommodation here in Tuban / Bali (the quiter end of town). Right here at Home Base we have single rooms for US$15.00, US$18.00 for couple’s & US$25.00 for a twin share room. All rooms have Air conditioning, hot and cold water, tv, refridgerator and large private bathroom. 300mtrs back from the beach in fron of the Outer reefs here in Tuban.
Ok crew that’ll do me for now but we’ll be back again tomorrow with the latest surf info outta Bali. Plus we should be feeling another little pulse of swell through Tuesday, so stay tuned to the one and only original Bali surf report.
