****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello friends and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves this fine looking Friday (well at least here in Bali anyway). Sorry I didn’t get to load yesterdays report but I’ll bring it all up to date shortly. These latest photos we have on-line courtesy from our friends down at Uluwatu, Hendra Surf Photograhy are a bit of a collection from the last two days.
This mornings 6.30am surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing a nice little increase in wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. especially since yesterday afternoon it was hardly breaking out there. And that the forecasters were saying that we were not going to see the next pulse until the weekend. Wave height this morning is pushing 2-4ft on Middle Reef (chest to head high plus). But Kuta Reef and Airport Left were smaller at 1-2ft+. While I was on the beach I watched 10 surfers hop into the reef taxi’s heading for Kuta and Middle Reefs.
Surfing conditions are absolutely perfect with the wind coming lightly out of the ENE and straight off-shore @ 3-5knot. But will more than likely swing further around to the ESE-SE and increase in strength by midday.
Tidal info for today is saying we will have a 0.8mtr Low @ 10.30am and then a measley 1.4mtr High around the 4.30pm mark. Our next moon phase will be a Full Moon on the 5th of August.
Looking for a wave today it’s already shaping up for a good one for all the surfers here in Bali and there’ll be plenty of options from Bingin through to Uluwatu down on the Southern end of the island.
Yesterdays sms surf report from the good crew at the G-land Surf Camp was saying that wave height was still holding in the head hig to double head high range. Kong’s down to the top end of Money Tree’s was producing plenty of waves for the half a dozen surfers in the water at 8.30am.
Weather wise here in Tuban there is a little bit of high and light cloud still hanging around but should burn off for another hot and sunny day along the beach. Heading for a top temperature of around 32 degree’s Celsius. With the water temperature warming back up to 22 degree’s Celsius.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard, twin share and fan bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
And don’t forget to drop me a line if your looking for some surfer friendly accommodation here in Tuban / Bali (the quiter end of town). Right here at Home Base we have single rooms for US$15.00, US$18.00 for couple’s & US$25.00 for a twin share room. All rooms have Air conditioning, hot and cold water, tv, refridgerator and large private bathroom. 300mtrs back from the beach in fron of the Outer reefs here in Tuban.
Surf Board special offer; It just so happens a friend of mine here in Bali is holding 3 brand new boards, never ridden or even waxed and is offering them at a special price of AU$525.00. These aren’t back yard or pop out boards either made by one of the most reputable shapers in Australia. Sizes are 6’3″ & 6’6″ So if your after a high performance new board drop us an email and I’ll put you in touch.
Ok crew have a good one today and get ready for the weekend because we’ll be bringing it to ya’s all through it !
Cheers
Slim
