****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy friends and once again welcome back to the baliwaves.com for inside scoop on surfing and weather conditions here on your No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali. And Hendra and his surf photo team from down at Uluwatu have yet again delivered some new photos from Ulu for us.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs (as per our swell forecast) was showing wave height to be holding in the 2-4ft+ range and pretty much similar to yesterday. Although we did see a pulse of some bigger sized set waves around midday yesterday. We have some tide over the reef this morning and Kuta Reef was breaking very nicely in the chest to head high plus range for the 15 surfers that were in the line up at 7.00am. Middle Reef is still pulling the odd double head high set wave and will only improve as the tide turns and runs back out. Airport Left had around a dozen surfers out there and was also breaking in the chest to head high plus range.
Surfing conditions are clean and tidy with the ESE-SE off-shore Tradewind kicking in early, currently blowing @ 6-9knot and will certainly increase in strength through out the day.
The Tide Charts are saying we had an ealy morning High of 2.1mtrs @ 5.30am. Our first Low tide will be a 0.8mtr @ 12.00 noon. Then finishing off the day with another 1.5mtr High around 5.30pm
Looking for a wave today you can take your pick with clean off-shore wind blowing between Kuta and Uluwatu. I’d say wave height down at Uluwatu would still be hitting the 3-5ft+ sector and better suited to the more experienced surfers…..
Weather wise, well first I better make a correction for yesterday as the cloud cover just kept on coming but there was plenty of blue patches in between. This morning has started off pretty much the same and we even had a few drops of light rain here in Tuban @ 9.00am. So I’d say we’re in for more part sunny, part cloudy conditons again today. heading for a top temperature of around 29-30 degree’s Celsius. Our water temperature has also cooled off another degree or two with the strong off-shore wind. Currently sitting around the 19-20 degree Celsius mark.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard, twin share and fan bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
Swell forecast; according to what the charts have to say wave height should be increasing a touch more through out today and into Wednesday. Then through Thursday starting to back off but still holding in the 3-5ft+ range (up to double head high plus depending on location). Friday see’s the last of it with wave height fading fast and dropping back down into the 2-4ft class. Saturday and the game is just about over for this swell, come Sunday the only place that will be breaking is down at Uluwatu and then only in the 2-3ft (waist to head high at best). But further out down in the Indian Ocean there is another system in transit that we should start producing some fresh waves around Wednesday / Thursday next week.
Alright then that’s us for today have a good one and we’ll hope to see ya’s here in Bali some time soon
Catch ya’s later
