****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for the Sunday Session and todays take on surfing and weather conditions from on and around the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali. And another big thanks to Hendra and his Team from down at Uluwatu for today’s photos.
Well we got off to a bit of a late start this morning, last night we had a small party here at Home Base for our guests and my good friends here in Tuban and some of the Uluwatu crew. BBQ fish, fried fish fillets, king prawns and sushimi in abundance. Not too mention the crates of icy cold Bintang beer and Jack Daniels to wash it down.
So my first surf check on the Outer reefs never went down until 9.00AM. Wave height does seem to have climbed up another notch between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still running out so once again Kuta Reef and Airports were not breaking but Middle Reef was looking good at a consistent head to head high plus. KR and AL will also have a few as the tide turns and starts to run back in after lunch. Actually I’ve just had a guest that’s staying with us come back from surfing at Airports (reef rashed back) and Eddy reckons that early this morning AL was cranking with over head sets and only 5-10 surfers.
Surfing conditions were good enough with the wind coming out of the ESE-SE gusting up to 15knot and preety much straight off-shore between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Tidal info for today is calling for a 0.9mtr Low @ 11.00AM and then running back in for a 1.3mtr High around 5.00PM.
Weather wise it’s all good with blue sky and sunshine. Another top day along the beach and heading for a maximum temperature of around 32 degree’s Celsius. The water temperature is still a bit cool at 19 degree’s Celsius.
Sms surf report from Hendra down at Uluwatu was saying that wave height was in the head to almost double head high range this morning, and only going to be improving through out the day. Strong off-shore wind with around 50 surfers scattered between Temple’s down through the Main Peak to Racetrack.
Sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was also calling wave height pushing the double head high range. Only 2 surfers in the water at 9.00Am surfing on the Kongs section of the mile long reef called G-Land.
Diverse Surfboards; Dave from Diverse on Australia’s Gold Coast called me yesterday to tell me that if anyone would like a custom made Diverse delivered to them here in Bali he is currently working on a shipment to be delivered. But you need to contact Dve direct through his banner link on baliwaves.com within the next week to beat the deadline.
For the surfer / fishermen who frequent these pages I have another fishing report along with some new photos ready for ya’s.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp.
I’d also like to give Pat and Brian from www.eventpowerandlight.com.au a huge thank you for there exceptional help for me to be able to purchase a new lap top so these reports can keep flowing. This couple of everyday Aussies not only helped me while they were in Bali but also helped a young Balinese surfer start his own life by helping him to buy his own double outrigger boat and motor becoming his own master in life. Then they backed that straight up by sponsoring another young Balinese student to help his struggling mother who was battling to keep up with his school fee’s. So if your in Australia and you need portable power and light for an event contact Pat and Brian.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,400 — 1US$=Rp10,000 —
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Ok then crew that’s us for today but as ya all know we’ll be back again tomorrow with your daily dose of Bali.
Have a good one
Slim
