****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves for the latest surfing and weather info from the No.1 surfing holiday island of Bali. And thanks to our friends at Hendra Surf Photography for delivering us more photos from down at Bali’s Premier surfing location of Uluwatu.
This mornings surf recon of the Outer reefs was showing wave height to have backed off another notch but still in the waist to head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left Small but well shaped little waves hitting Kuta Reef in the waist to shoulder high region with around 20 surfers in the water. Middle Reef was too fat with the approaching high tide, but when it did break there were chest to head high waves with the occassional bigger one every now and again. Airport Left was looking the most popular crowd wise and at least 30 surfers out there chasing waist to chest high sets. Locally the beach breaks down along Kuta “Half Way” should have a few waves if you can find a bank with out a surf school on it. And down on the Southern end of the Island Uluwatu would still be picking up some head to well over head high stuff on the Main Peak.
Surfing conditions were clean with the ESE-SE off-shore Tradewind blowing at 8-11knot.
Tidal info is saying we had a 2.4mtr High @ 10.00am and then she’ll be running back out for a reef exposing 0.1mtr Low around 5.00pm.
Sms surf report from lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa was calling similar size as yesterdays report, chest to head high plus out on the Peak.
Weather wise here in the laid back suburb of Tuban we have a nice one coming on for the boys and girls here on vacation with blue sky and sunshine. Heading for a top temperature of around 30 degree’s Celsius.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard, twin share and fan bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
And don’t forget to drop me a line if your looking for some surfer friendly accommodation here in Tuban / Bali (the quiter end of town). Right here at Home Base we have single rooms for US$15.00, US$18.00 for couple’s & US$25.00 for a twin share room. All rooms have Air conditioning, hot and cold water, tv, refridgerator and large private bathroom. 300mtrs back from the beach in fron of the Outer reefs here in Tuban.
Surf Board special offer; It just so happens a friend of mine here in Bali is holding 3 brand new boards, never ridden or even waxed and is offering them at a special price of AU$525.00. These aren’t back yard or pop out boards either made by one of the most reputable shapers in Australia. Sizes are 6’3″ & 6’6″ So if your after a high performance new board drop us an email and I’ll put you in touch.
Swell Prediction; Ok well here’s my interpretation of what we can expect swell wise over the next week. Late Tuesday afternoon we should see a small swell start to show boosting wave height back into the 3-5ft range. This will take us through to Wednesday afternoon before starting to fade on us. Then come Friday another similar sized system should give us some more waves through till Sunday. Further out in the Indian Ocean there is a solid swell moving our way and fingers crossed that should be here by next Tesday / Wednesday. NB: since I wrote this info this swell in transit has been down graded but still going to produce some solid swell.
Ok friends of Bali that’s it for another Bali surf report from us, bu stay tuned to the baliwaves.com cause we’ll keep it coming at ya’s 7 days a week.
Best Regards from the real surfers paradise.
