****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
G’Day crew and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for the latest info on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the God’s, Bali. And once again our friends from down at Uluwatu, Hedra Surf Photography, have delivered the goods for us.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing some early signs of a fresh pulse of swell with wave height ranging from 2-4ft (chest to over head) between Kuta Reef and Airport left. There were a few surfers out on Kuta Reef but this morning the wind has reverted back into the howling class coming out of the ESE-SE @ 15-20knot. Needless to say surfing conditions are very testy on the Outers today. The tide was getting to high for Middle Reef but when the sets did come through they were over head. Down on Airport Left there was a solid contingency of surfers with wave height a blustery waist to head high.
Looking for a wave today your best bet would be down under the shelter of the cliffs along Bali’s South Western coastline. Bingin would be worth taking on the stairs on the afternoon Low tide. Uluwatu’s Racetrack section would also be a popular choice.
Tidal info for today is calling in a 2.4mtr High @ 11.00am and then another reef exposing 0.1mtr Low around the 5.30pm mark.
Weather info so far today, well if you took away the strong off-shore wind it would be just another perfect day on Bali. Clear blue sky heading for a maximum temperature of around 30 degree’s. While the water temperature is not too bad @ 21 degree’s Celsius.
Another sms surf report has arrived from Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa saying that a new swell is also starting to show itself. Wave height out on the Peak this morning was a crisp 4ft (over head) with light and favourable wind through the early AM.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard, twin share and fan bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
And don’t forget to drop me a line if your looking for some surfer friendly accommodation here in Tuban / Bali (the quiter end of town). Right here at Home Base we have single rooms for US$15.00, US$18.00 for couple’s & US$25.00 for a twin share room. All rooms have Air conditioning, hot and cold water, tv, refridgerator and large private bathroom. 300mtrs back from the beach in front of the Outer reefs here in Tuban.
Surf Board special offer; It just so happens a friend of mine here in Bali is holding 3 brand new boards, never ridden or even waxed and is offering them at a special price of AU$525.00. These aren’t back yard or pop out boards either made by one of the most reputable shapers in Australia. Sizes are 6’3″ & 6’6″ So if your after a high performance new board drop us an email and I’ll put you in touch.
Swell Prediction; Ok well here’s my interpretation of what we can expect swell wise over the next week. Late Tuesday afternoon we should see a small swell start to show boosting wave height back into the 3-5ft range. This will take us through to Wednesday afternoon before starting to fade on us. Then come Friday another similar sized system should give us some more waves through till Sunday. Further out in the Indian Ocean there is a solid swell moving our way and fingers crossed that should be here by next Tesday / Wednesday. NB: since I wrote this info this swell in transit has been down graded but still going to produce some solid swell.
Ok crew thats about me for now but come later this evening I might have another little treat for you. So stay tuned into the one and only original Bali surf report for all your Bali needs.
See you soon
Slim
very good photos.wonderful information from bali surf and bali surfers.
hey slim your photos always take too long to upload ( a few seconds per photo is too slow). not sure if you can fix this.
Thnx for the feed back Garry but the only way to fix that is if you get a faster internet connection. They only take half that time for me and thats here in Indonesia…
