****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves and todays look at surfing and weather conditions here on the ever popular one stop surf, fun and sun holiday destinattion of Bali. Once again todays photos are courtesy from our good friends down at Uluwatu Hendra Surf photography.
Ketut went down for the early morning surf check on the Outer Reefs @ 7.00AM and reported back that wave height has dropped off another notch. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left down into the 1-2ft+ (knee to chest high) range. The tide was still on the bottom of the Low so nothing surfable on Kuta Reef or Airport Left. But Middle Reef which is better suited to the low tide being one of the deeper reefs in Bali was producing some nice little waves in the waist to chest high class. Now according to the swell prediction charts wave height should start increasing sometime in the later half of the day. So when it does I’ll drop ya’s a line / sms, through our twitter mobile phone service (baliwaves). Looking for a wave this morning you’d be best off at mellow Middle Reef here in Tuban or down on the shallow and tubular Racetrack section at Uluwatu. As the tide fills in you could then suss out the beach breaks (if the swell hasn’t started to show) up along the Kuta to Legian stretch. Or just hang out down at Uluwatu for the best size and power.
Surfing conditions at the time of our report were clean and glassy with the wind only coming lightly out of the East @ 1-3knot.
Tidal info for today is calling for a 0.3mtr Low @ 8.00AM and then filling back in with a 1.9mtr High around the 2.00PM mark.
Weather wise this morning we are off to nice start with plenty of blue sky and sunshine, shaping up for another top day along the beach. Currently the temperature is sitting on 26 degree’s Celsius @ 8.30AM and heading for a maximum of around 33 degree’s Celsius.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,550 — 1US$=Rp9.950 —
Swell Forecast, Ok so really the charts are still saying that everything is still on track and pretty soon it’s going to be over sized. Starting off sometime in the next 12hrs. Wave height should make a pretty sharp jump in size into the 14ft face class. Then through Friday back off into the 12-11ft (face) range. Then Saturday see’s wave height smacking us in the face with up to 20ft+ face’s. Then wait for it, Sunday going off the richter scale with up to 25ft+ wave height. This mother should hold through Monday before easing back into the 14-11ft range Tuesday then she’s just about gone on Wednesday. Further out on the edge of the radar there could be another smaller system ready to move in.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Alright folks hold onto your hats and get ready to see some big waves coming your way. And if you can’t be here for it then stay tuned to the baliwaves.com
