****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Hello friends and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for todays low down on surfing and weather conditions here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali. And another big thanks to Hendra and his Team from down at Uluwatu for todays photos.
First of all I have to admit I have a problem, sometimes once I start I just can’t stop. It’s been going on for the last 5 days straight… Fishing, it gets a hold of me and I think it’s becoming a problem. But I’m trying to control the urge and I’m not going to think about line peeling off reels and that first glimpse of colour as a big one comes up out of the deep. I’m just gunna go surfing instead.
Anyway, this mornings first surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was a little dissapointing after seeing consistent lines rolling in yesterday on sunset. Wave height must have peaked through the night and has already dropped back down into the waist to head high plus class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. With the early morning high tide there were a few small ones breaking on Kuta Reef and Airport Left but only in the waist to chest high range and a little inconsistent. I’m figuring that as the tide runs out Middle Reef will be a better option with more size and power.
Surfing conditions this morning were clean and almost glassy with the wind only a light 1-2knot+ coming out of the ESE.
Tidal info for today is saying we had a 1.9mtr High @ 7.00AM and then running back out for a 0.6mtr Low around the 2.30PM mark.
Weather wise there was some solid banks of rain cloud looming up out of the South and there was more than likely some rain down on the Southern end of the island. Right now at 11.30AM the sky is still clouded over and still the chance of some rain. temperature wise it’s currently a humid 27 degree’s Celsius.
Sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was saying that wave height on Kongs was only showing in the head high range but further down the reef on Money Tree’s and launch Pad it was close to double head high. No surfers in the water @ 9.00AM.
Diverse Surfboards; Dave from Diverse on Australia’s Gold Coast called me yesterday to tell me that if anyone would like a custom made Diverse delivered to them here in Bali he is currently working on a shipment to be delivered. But you need to contact Dve direct through his banner link on baliwaves.com within the next week to beat the deadline.
For the surfer / fishermen who frequent these pages I have another fishing report along with some new photos ready for ya’s.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,450 — 1US$=Rp10,100 —
Swell Forecast; I had a brief glimpse of what the predictors were calling for the coming week and if they hold true we should see some solid waves hitting Bali by Friday afternoon. Holding through the weekend before dropping off. Then at the very edge of the radar there’s and even bigger one in transit. Lets hope they have it right.
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Thanks again for dropping into the baliwaves.com
Best Regards from Bali
