****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning friends and thanks for taking the time out to stop by the baliwaves.com for your daily fix of surfing and weather info from the happy little holiday island of Bali. Today’s photos we have for you are courtesy of our good friends down at Uluwatu, Hendra Surf Photography.
This mornings 6.45AM surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was still showing wave height to be coming through in a fun looking waist to head high plus range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was just starting to run back in and Kuta Reef was showing the potential with waist to head high set waves. Middle Reef was slightly bigger with the odd over head wave. Airport Left also still needed more water and will have some waist chest high plus waves around midday.
Surfing conditions were clean with the ESE-SE off-shore (Kuta to Uluwatu) Tradewind kicking in early.
Tidal info for today is calling for a 2.4mtr High @ 11.00AM and then runing out for a 0.2mtr Low around 5.30PM
Weather wise there was some cloud hanging about earlier in the morning but now at 8.30AM it looks to be clearing up for another hot and sunny day along the beach. Heading for a maximum temperature of around 32 degree’s Celsius.
Photo up date; I’ve got another batch for the bodyboarders and a hole truck load of fishing photos to get loaded up through out the day. So if your interested drop by again later on.
Swell Forecast; Well it’s getting a bit risky in this department with a lot of “way off the mark” info on the net of late. But…. if what the forecasters are predicting for the next week is true we are in for plenty of waves here in Indonesia. It looks like our next boost will arrive this coming Tuesday that is going to be backed up by at least another swell right behind it. Then further out on the radar there is what looks like to be the biggest swell that we’ve seen in quite awhile in transit to us. That should smack into this island around next Saturday.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Alrighty then folks enjoy whats left of your weekend and make sure you stay tuned to the one and only original daily surf report site.
Best Regards from the island of the Gods

My son is 12 – Bondi boy. Loves to surf – wouldn’t say he is ‘experienced’ as has picked up the sport in the last 6 months – but seems natural and pretty game and keen. Uluwatu of for kids?
Lee.
Ulu’s is not the place to test your sons skills if you are not sure he can handle shallow reef and heavy waves. You also have to consider the other 100 surfers in the water. Will your son be in the way of others?
If you are not in the water with him will he be able to save himself?
Maybe you should consider the Kuta Legian beachies or take a trip to the outer reef on a smaller day and sit in the boat to watch him . If he handles the outer reefs then progress out to Ulu’s.
It is not a place for any person who cannot consider themselves experienced. A 12 year old at Ulu’s is like an under 14 at an AFL game. Out of his depth unless he is a freak.
Visit Ulu’s and have a look. It will stay in his mind for the next visit to Bali and he will be amped to tackle its waves .
Have a great holiday.
Your son is lucky to have a father taking him to such a wonderful place.
Thanks Andrew, couldn’t have put it better !!!
