****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for waiting around for todays report on surfing and weather conditions here on the holiday island of Bali. And as you can see in todays photos courtesy of Hendra Surf Photography there were a few nice little waves for the crew down at Uluwatu yesterday.
Today’s check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have backed off a touch with wave height only breaking in the waist to chest high range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. When I checked again at 1.00PM there was around 10 surfers in the water on Kuta Reef, with 2 foot set waves.
Surfing conditions this morning were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the North @ 1-3knot. Then around 10.30AM the ESE-SE Tradewind kicked in providing clean off-shore wind between Kuta and Uluwatu with gusts of up to 14knot.
Tidal info for today was calling for a 0.2mtr Low @ 6.00AM and then a fairly solid 2.3mtr High @ midday and finishing off with another 0.1 reef exposing Low around 6.00PM.
Weather wise the morning started off wet, we had some solid rain falling between 6.00 – 7.00AM. But now @ 3.00AM we are back to basic’s with blue sky and sunshine with the temperature currently a warm 28 degree’s Celsius.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,400 — 1US$=Rp9,880 —
Photo up date; I’ve got another batch for the bodyboarders and a hole truck load of fishing photos to get loaded up through out the day. So if your interested drop by again later on.
Swell Forecast; Well it’s getting a bit risky in this department with a lot of “way off the mark” info on the net of late. But…. if what the forecasters are predicting for the next week is true we are in for plenty of waves here in Indonesia. It looks like our next boost will arrive this coming Tuesday that is going to be backed up by at least another swell right behind it. Then further out on the radar there is what looks like to be the biggest swell that we’ve seen in quite awhile in transit to us. That should smack into this island around next Saturday.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Ok crew have a good one and stay tuned to the baliwaves.com if you want to be in the know !
Best Regards from Bali

Hi Andy,
No worries mate but you’ll need to email me for my mobile number etc ([email protected]..) Tuban is down in front of the Outer Reefs nice and quite but still close enough to Kuta if needed.
