****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello everyone and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for the latest nes on surfing and weather conditions here on the first choice surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Well yesterday didn’t see much of an increase in wave height with only 1-2ft plus breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. And first thing this morning there wasn’t much difference, pretty much the same as yesterday. So I went for a ride down to Uluwatu hoping that there would be a few better sized waves down on the Bukit. I hit the road around 8.00AM (just as the rain started to set in…) arriving at Uluwatu @ 8.45AM. The tide was just starting to run back in with waves breaking on the Racetrack in the wiast to head high range.
Surfing conditions were clean and glassy through until 9.30AM when another storm blew in from the South. Then it reverted back to wet with the wind strong on-shore from the South @ 10-12knot. As the tide further filled in wave height was starting to show some better size, but the Southerly wind was pretty much set in.
Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there were a few clean lines bending down the reef at Impossible’s in the chest to head high range, while Padang Padang was virtually flat.
Tidal info for today had a 2.3mtr High @ 11.00AM and then she’ll be bottoming out for a reef exposing 0.2mtr Low @ 5.00PM
Weather wise it’s been a shocker by Bali standards with constant cloud cover and rain patches. Currently at 1.45PM the temperature is sitting on 25 degree’s Celsius.
Swell forecast; According to the forecasters we should see wave height continue to increase in size through Sunday and peaking on Monday. Tuesday has wave height slowly backing off but still holding something for us through Wednesday. Thursday and it’s just about over. But then if everything holds together we should see another big system moving in on Friday afternoon with the charts currently showing a 18ft peak for Saturday. But we will have to wait and watch what happens. Anyway it’s looking good for waves at least through till next Wednesday.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Ok crew, just a another quick one today as old Slim is not feeling 100% (day 3 of the hot and colds)
