****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE*****
Hi crew and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for more news on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the No.1 surf, fun and sun holiday island of Bali. And thanks to Hendra and his Team down at Uluwatu for another round of photos today.
Well there’s no way I can sensationalize todays waves. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was a sloppy looking knee to waist high at best. Once again I went all the way down to Uluwatu in my travels this morning and there wasn’t much better on offer. Except for Uluwatu which was slightly bigger in the waist to chest high class. But as we all know Uluwatu can be a bit of a circus when there’s no waves anywhere else, everything from surf ski riders to those stand up paddlers, then throw in a half a dozen learners on mini mals plus every other man and his dog and that was Uluwatu today.
Surfing conditions this morning were clean and very glassy with only the slightest hint of N-NW wind. Until just before lunch time when she swung more to the WSW.
Tidal info for today was saying we had a 2.2mtr High at 11.00AM and then she’ll be bottoming out for a 0.3mtr reef exposing Low @ 5.00PM.
Weather wise it’s been hot and sunny with the temperature peaking around 31 degree’s Celsius.
Sms surf report from the good guys at the G-Land Surf Camp was telling me that wave height is about as small as it gets over at G-land with wave height in the chest to chest high plus range. Only 5 surfers in the water at Kongs @ 9.00Am
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Ok folks that’s about it for today, hopefully towards the end of the week (working) we’ll see a few more waves around the island.
Best Regards from Bali
Slim
