****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
G’Day crew and thanks for stopping by your baliwaves.com for our Sunday Session on surfing and weather conditions here on the one stop surfing holiday island destination of Bali.
Well this mornings surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban hasn’t really changed much from yesterday. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left is a very inconsistant 1-1ft+. Bugger all wind this morning, coming out of the WNW @ 1-2knot. So if there was some swell conditons would be perfect.
Tidal info for today has a 1.5mtr High @ 7.00am and then running out for a mid range 0.8mtr High around 1.00pm. Our next moon phase will be a New Moon rising on the 16th and the start of some better tidal range.
Looking for a wave today, I’d say the best bet today would have been up at Balian. Canggu may have also had the odd 1-2 footer while the tide was in. Likewise down at Uluwatu there should have been some waist to waist high plus action for the grommets. Over on the East Coast you’d find some small and clean surf at Nyang Nyang’s through to Nusa Dua, and further up the coast at Keramas if you don’t mind a crowd.
Weather wise, more perfect holiday weather for the lucky one’s on vacation. Blue sky and sunshine heading for a top temperature of around 33 degree’s Celsius along the beach.
Swell Prediction, Nothing in sight on the radar over the next 7 days. More small to micro sized waves ranging between 1-3ft depending on location.
Ok crew there’s not a lot happening surf wise, but there’s always plenty of other stuff to do here in Bali. I’ve also been having a quick look at the Aussie websites that have been boasting Bali surf reports on their (Sydney / Gold Coast) websites. Pretty ordinary if you ask me with the last up-dates from months ago, good stuff !
Holiday Season up-date, If any of you guys and girls have been here in Bali through the Christmas / New Year period then you’d know what to expect. For those of you that haven’t it’s the time when just about every Indonesian living outside of Bali decides to drive their car here. The end result is traffic KAOS for anywhere in the Kuta to Seminyak area, and I do mean traffic grid lock. Anyone who hasn’t had their hotel booked for at least 1 month in advance hasn’t got a chance. This all starts anytime in the next week or so and runs through till just after the New Year.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
As you all know we have been trialing a new photo viewing program to make it easier for you to flick through the photos on site. Ok, as you also should know is that we highly value our advertisers / sponsors, as they help pay our running costs / bills etc etc. So at the end of the trial period (1 month) if our advertisers / sponsors are still getting the same amount of views and visits then we will keep this system in place. If not then it’ll be back to the old system !!! So please make the time to visit the good folk who help keep the baliwaves on your monitor.
Now’s also a good time to start planning your 2010 Bali / Indo surf trip. If it’s an island hoping adventure on a live aboard surfing charter boat make sure you take a look at what the boys from www.indoocean.com have got on offer for you. G-Land, start getting your friends together for the ultimate surfing adventure at one of the surfing wonders of the World. Check out the guys at www.g-landsurfcamp.com for the experience. How about totally spoiling yourself at one of the private island resorts (Kandui / Macaroni’s) up in the Mentawai’s ?
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that –1AU$=Rp8,600 — 1US$$=9,400 — give or take ro Rupiah depending on vendor.
We’d also like to wish all our supporters the very best for Christmas and the New Year !
Best Regards from Bali

Hi Slim,
You were right about the odd good wave at Canggu. Surf early and it was nice, sets just coming in head high and clean. Only 2 on the left and about 10 on the right.
hey buddy, how can I post some pics for ya. Shot a couple, not the best waves that came thru but I needed to jump in and get a couple before the wind came up.
Cheers Doc
