****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Hi crew and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions here on your favorite surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This morning I wasn’t in much of a hurry to head down for a look mat my swell indicators, namely Kuta Reef to Airport Left. By 7.00am the wind was coming out of th N-NW @ 3-7knot and wave height was still similar to yesterday with only knee to waist high waves. However there was a small wave breaking on Airport Left, but with at least 10-15 long boarders out there. I was going to ride my bike over to the East Coast and try and get some photos. But, after hearing from one of my friends who surfed Keramas yesterday at waist to shoulder high and 50 others I really don’t think you guys and girls would be that interested. We’ll just sit this small swell out and wait for something a little more substantial.
Tidal info for today had another reef exposing 0.1mtr Low @ 6.00am and then filling in with a 2.0mtr High just after midday and rounding the day off with a 0.6mtr Low around 6.00pm.
Looking for a wave, I’d still have to say the best waves and surfing conditions would have been found up at Balian this morning. No at 1.00pm the wind has turned more to the W-SW so locations like Nusa Dua and Keramas over on the East Coast would have a few waist to head high waves.
Weather wise nothing but blue sky around this part of the island (Tuban) with a midday temperature of at least 33 degree’s Celsius. The water temperature has also really warmed up and currently around the 25 degree celsius mark.
Our man over at Byron Bay / Lennox Head has also sent us through another surf up date from his part of the World along with a couple of cool photos. So you can find Craig’s surf report on the Byron to Lennox report page.
The traffic around Bali has been horrendous to say the least over the New Year holiday but things should be getting back to normal over the next week with the Indonesian school holidays finishing on the 4th.
Swell outlook for the next week is showing we should see a small pulse that will add another foot of wave height on Monday that will hold through Tuesday before starting to fade on Wednesday. The further out on Sunday another slightly bigger swell should start to show on the beachs and reefs around Bali.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here at Home Base in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$16.00 (Rp160,000) per night (single) or US$19.00 (Rp190,000) for a couple and US$26.00 (Rp260,000) twin share. Then contact slim.
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Our New Photo program that we have been trialing has turned out to be a success and we’ll be keeping it. Our page view statistics show that our sponsors have been averaging pretty close to the same traffic as before, so a big thanks to you guys and girls.
Best Regards from Bali

Hi Slim I am in Bali this week – can you tell me if Kuta Reef is working today and what the 7 day outlook is? I am in Legian but if the traffic is as bad as it has been then it will take 3 hours to get there from near Padma.
Thanks
Bart
