****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello crew and thanks for calling into the baliwaves.com for todays news on surfing and weather conditions here on the ever popular surfing holiday island of Bali.
This mornings 6.30am surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was showing a drop in wave height, showing in the knee to waist high region between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The wind at the time was coming fresh out of the West @ 8-10knot+
So we tried our best to avoid surfing at Serangan today, but after checking Secrets at 10.45am to only find a 1 foot shorebreak and a solid crowd of around 30 Japanese surfers all over it that’s where we headed back to. Serangan, we new would have more size and as we pulled in there were some head high waves peeling off both left and right. Wind direction had also swung more to the WSW by this time making it a little cross – shore. Crowd wise there were at least 75+ surfers out there. Around 2.00pm we started to see some more solid 3-4ft+ set waves coming through (head to almost double head high). Drop in city.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.1mtr reef exposing Low @ 6.30am and then running back in for a 2.3mtr High @ 12.30pm.
Weather wise the morning started off with scattered showers that eventually cleared away for just another hot and sunny day by midday. Temperature wise it would have peaked @ 33 degree’s Celsius.
Tomorrow and I think the boys and I are going to make another road trip if the wind isn’t too savage when we get up. Otherwise it’ll be over to Keramas for some more variety.
