****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Afternoon folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from all over the tropical surfing holiday island of Bali. Just a heads up with todays New Photos. The first 14 or so are from Serangan on the 31st and then the rest are from Secrets today the 1st of Feb, hope you like them !
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was still showing wave height to be breaking in the 2-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. But no chance of sneaking in a paddle with the wind coming hard out of the WSW @ 10-12knot.
So the boys and I loaded up the wheels and headed over to the East Coast, kinda bored with the lack of power and crowds of Serangan we decided on chasing some shore breaks (sand bottomed) at “Secrets”. We took our time waiting for the tide to fill in a bit and arrived to find wave height in the 2-3ft+ range with only 5 other surfers in sight. The wind was still coming out of the WSW so surfing conditions were still fairly clean and smooth with a cross / off-shore wind. We surfed it until 2.30pm and left an empty line-up with our departure.
Weather wise, well after some more super heavy / flood type rain last night we had a pretty much normnal hot and sunny day. This lasted until 3.30pm before the skies darkened and more rain to cool everyone off. Temperature wise she would have peaked around 32 degree’s Celsius.
