****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Evening crew and thanks for waiting around for us to get back to home base so I could deliver ya’s the latest news and photos on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination called Bali.
baliwaves t-shirt winner is Bob Hovey from North Carolina USA.
This mornings 6.45am surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was indicating that wave height had backed off a touch, with only 1-2 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. It was also telling me that the wind was only coming lightly out of the West @ 3-5knot.
So after a quick meeting with the boys we decided on heading back over to Keramas on the East Coast to try our luck again. Arriving around 11.00am to find wave height coming through at a consistant 2-3ft (waist to head high). The wind by this time had increased up to 7-10knot and now with a touch of South in it. But there were some serious storm clouds brewing just to the North of us so I was hoping for a little off-shore swing when it hit. Even so with the wind where it was there were still plenty of clean walling waves to be had. Around 12.30pm the rain hit us and surfing conditions went to the sh.t house for the first 20mins and then it happened. The wind swung around to the NW turning off-shore. Wave height also followed suit and jumped into the 3-4ft class. Crowd wise once again was only averaging around 20 surfers. Unfortunately it was still raining hard so I didn’t get to shoot more photos, just a few. It did infact keep on raining all the way home until we hit Tuban @ 6.00pm..
Tomorrow there are more light winds predicted so we’ll be trying our luck somewhere else..
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.1mtr Low @ 7.00am and then filling in with another solid 2.4mtr High @ 1.30pm.
Weather wise the day started off nice and sunny here in the Tuban area but as soon as we hit the East Coast the cloud was gathering and the rain eventually came down hard.
