****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hi folks and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for the very latest (only) news on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the with out a doubt, best value for money surfing holiday island destination of Bali.
Yeah I know, no report went down yesterday so I’m making it up to ya’s today. Even though yesterday afternoon the wind swung back to the ESE (after being on-shore all day out of the WSW) and we scored some nice little waves in the head to over head high class on Airport Left. So to start the ball rolling here’s a 10 from 25 photo sequence of Uluwatu local surfer Made Lapur. Made paddled out leisurly and just sat in “the spot” by himself and waited. Until this wave came through. When he wants to be, Made Lapur is the fastest man in the water at Ulu.
Ok so my first surf check on the Outer Reefs (indicators) here in Tuban went down at 6.40am. Wave height was still only showing in the 2-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, but with clean off-shore wind out of the East @ 1-3knot. So it was a unanimous decision to head south for Uluwatu.
Arriving at 8.00am to find around 18 surfers in the water and wave height in the 2-4ft+ class and super clean with the still off-shore wind. The Main Peak and top end of the Racetrack were producing the best rides. And at 12.00 noon when we were packing up there was still only 35 surfers in the line-up between Temple’s and the Racetrack. Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there was a little 2 footer peeling off down the reef on Impossible’s while Padang Padang was like a pancake.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 1.1mtr Low @ 11.00am and then she’ll be filling back up with a 1.9mtr High around 7.00pm.
Weather wise today more clear blue sky with a temperature that would have made it to 32 degree’s Celsius, perfect holiday weather.
Swell forecast for the coming week is showing wave height to be pretty much levelling out and hanging in the 2-4ft range depending on location. Later in the week around Thursday we will start to see a new swell showing that should push the tempo back up into the 3-5ft+ range through the weekend.
