****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for the latest news on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the always best value for surfing dollar holiday island of Bali. And I hope your local was as good as it was down at Uluwatu today !
This mornings surf check on the Outer reefs was showing an as expected bump in wave height, with 1-2ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport left. Although we did have another full reef exposing low tide happening around 7.00am.
So the boys wanted to brush up on their tube riding so there’s no better place for doing that than down on Uluwatu’s Racetrack section. So that’s where we made a bee line for. As ya’s can see in todays photo gallery (35 photos). We arrived around 7.15am to find wave height a perfect Racetrack sized 3-4ft+ with only 4 other surfers in the water. She was certainly shallow, but that’s how it’s gotta be for the Racetrack to produce the goods.
Some sick tubes were ridden this morning, although I wouldn’t call it all time perfection, she does get a lot better than what we had this morning. But for mid Febuary and “off-season” it was pretty bloody good. As usual by 9.30am the tide was filling back in and the number of surfers in the water had increased up to 60. But now spread out over a good 500 yrds between Temple’s and the Racetrack. By the time we packed up at 11.00am there was at least 90 surfers over the same area.
Surfing conditions couldn’t have been any better with clean off-shore wind coming out of the East @ 2-5knot between 7.00 – 10.00am. Then swinging more to the SSE and straight off-shore here on the Outer Reefs in Tuban. And that’s where I dropped off my crew for another session at Airport Left, with waves coming through in the waist to head high range and only a handful of surfers out there.
Tidal info for today had us down for another 0.2mtr Low @ 7.00am and then she’ll be running back in for a 2.4mtr High around 1.30pm.
Weather wise that couldn’t have been any better either, perfect waves and perfect weather here in Bali today. Temperature wise it was a warm to hot 32 degree’s Celsius, with the water temp around 24 degree’s Celsius.
Swell forecast, at last we have some good news with a new new medium swell in trasit to Bali that should start to show by Saturday / Sunday. In the mean time we should see a smaller system give wave height a nudge by tomorrow afternoon (Wed)
