****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for sticking it out for todays news on surfing and weather conditions (not to mention another 50 odd photos) here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
This mornings 6.30am surf check on the Outer Reefs wasn’t looking real good. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left only trickling through in the knee to waist high plus sector. But I was teaming up with local surfers Devis Ratif and Pepen Hendrik to go check out Canggu and see what was up. As you can see in these photos wave height was a consistant head high with the occassional bigger set wave every now and then. The right hander in front of the river mouth had the best waves and probably the most surfers on it, around 25 give or take a couple. The sandbar also had some head high set waves but shorter rides, only half a dozen out there. Then down on the left hander in front of the warungs there would have been another 25 riders. Then even further down the beach I could see at least another 30 odd surfers.
Surfing conditions were clean and glassy when we first arrived @ 8.45am, then around 10.30 the wind shifted more to the SSE – SE taking the gloss off the waves.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 2.2mtr High @ 10.00am and then she’ll be running out for a 0.4mtr Low around 4.00pm. Full Moon rising tonight.
Weather wise today it was a mixed bag with patch’s of sunshine and cloud cover. Temperature wise she would have still busted the 30-32 degree mCelsius mark.
Swell prediction for the next 7 days is looking like wave height may improve a touch towards later this afternoon and into tomorrow. Well, bigger than today anyway. Then Tuesday we should see the start of a nice looking building moderate swell that will peak on Wednesday. Then backing off fairly quickly through Thursday, and not leaving too much behind for Friday. Saturday should bring another smaller spike in wave height. So it’s looking pretty good for the coming week.
I’d also like to mention to anyone that’s interested in doing some advertising on Bali’s biggest surfing website (us) that for a special 3 month trial period we’ll give you over 30,000 views per month for as little as US$100.00 per month. Try us out and you’ll see for yourself how we can boost your business.
Sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be peeling through Money Tree’s in the head to well over head range. No crowd.

Did any bule get any waves there today?
Jeez I’m glad I didn’t go and have a surf there, would’ve been a spectator for sure!
Love your shots of the guy casting the net! Awesome drive;clear as!!!
Don’t know about eating anything out of the river though; so many ear problems after any rain from there!
Fish don’t have these problems i guess…
Cheers Slim – nice one!
