****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hi crew and thanks for waiting around for todays information on surfing and weather conditions here on No.1 surfing holiday island destination of Bali.
Ok and it has been a big day for old Slim today. But before I get into todays report I’d just like to make a correction on yesterdays (current) photos. In the hurry to shut down my computer yesterday I forgot to mention the other stand out local surfer in the water at Ulu. Who was none other than, Wayan “Tumbling” Sudiantara.
Moving right along, this mornings 6.00am surf check on the Outer Reefs (as I was pushing my little double outrigger boat into the water) was showing wave height to have bounced a touch. There was some nice sized set waves pushing the 3-4ft range (well over head) when they came through. That was on Middle Reef while Kuta Reef and Airport Left were only receiving waist to chest high at best.
Balangan had at least a dozen surfers on it and there was the chest to head high set coming through. Further down south we then cruised by Dreamland which was only looking like waist high at best and around 8 surfers in the water. As the tide dropped out Bingin had a solid handful on the take off zone, I didn’t spot any surfers on Impossible’s. And Uluwatu was showing some 2-3ft+ waves between the Main Peak and Racetrack sections.
Surfing conditions could not have been better with a light and clean E-SE off-shore wind @ 3-6knot.
Weather wise it also could not have been any better with a top temperature of around 33 degree’s Celsius.
Photo up-date dept; Our friend at Hendra Surf Photography down at Uluwatu have sent us in some more photos that I’ve loaded into our Readers Report page. These shots were taken between the 21st – 23rd of March. I’ve also had some new photos sent over to us from the good folks at the Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai Islands. You can find those on the Kandui Surf Report page.
Swell outlook for the next week is showing small to fun sized waves with a bit of a “yo-yo” affect. Then further out for early next week we could be back in action with a more moderate swell in transit, if… she holds her course.
I’d also like to mention to anyone that’s interested in doing some advertising on Bali’s biggest surfing website (us) that for a special 3 month trial period we’ll give you over 30,000 views per month for as little as US$100.00 per month. Try us out and you’ll see for yourself how we can boost your business.
