**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for taking the time out and tuning into the baliwaves.com for todays news, views, surf and weather info from here on the No.1 best value surfing holiday destination going, Bali. This current photo gallery is courtesy of our good friends at Hendra Surf Photography down at Uluwatu.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was still showing wave height coming through in the head to almost double head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport left / Right. Earlier this morning we had nice and calm / clean surfing conditions with the wind coming lightly out of the NE @ 1-3knot. But now at 10.00am the wind has turned more to the WNW. Still only light and conditions are still pretty clean. That’s been normal for the wind over the last couple of weeks, variable wind constantly changing direction and strength. Even though the wind forecasts have all been locked into the ESE-SE over the same period of time.
Anyway there was some nice waves peeling off on Kuta Reef in the chest to over head head class, with around 15 surfers (at the time) on it. Just a little further to the South from Kuta Reef is another left hander know as Sena or Seconds and it was probably the best wave on offer out there this morning. Middle Reef was pushing double head high on the set waves but I never saw any waves going unridden, indicating a solid crew on it. Airport left was looking good, with the tide belting in for a solid 2.6mtr High scheduled for 10.00am. Wave height on the Left coming through the most consistantly at head to over head high and will be the best option on the top of the tide. It would be a safe bet to call that the right hander around the other side of the airport runway would also have a few similar sized waves.
Looking for a wave today there’s still plenty of swell on both the east and west coasts, so your best bet to find a not too crowded wave will be to jump in the car and go try somewhere different.
The next tide is going to be a reef exposing 0.1mtr Low around the 5.00pm mark. With the Full Moon rising two days ago on the 27th the next couple of days will have some big tidal range and difference.
Weather wise this morning there’s already been a few drops of rain and the sky is still all cloudy and grey.
I’ve also noticed a couple of comments on the site in regards to the age old subject of crowds and drop ins at the most surfer populated locations here in Bali. What can I say except that if you want to surf at the most popular locations be patient and humble, remember it’s not your local. We are almost into June so the situation is not going to be getting any better until after the peak holiday season has passed (I might copy and paste this one for next peak season…).
Don’t forget if anyone is interested in doing some advertising on Bali’s biggest surfing website (us) that for a special 3 month trial period we’ll give you over 30,000 views per month for as little as US$100.00 per month (valid till June 30th 2010). Try us out and you’ll see for yourself, we can help promote your business.
