****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and here we go again with todays run down on surfing and weather conditions here on your first choice surfing holiday island of Bali. And thanks to our friends at Hendra Surf Photography down at Uluwatu for today’s 78 image strong photo gallery.
Ok, this morning I was off to a slow start after spending half the night at the airport waiting for guests. So it wasn’t until 8.30am that we made it down for our surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Still a few waves breaking in the waist to head high range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left but not as consistant as yesterday. Kuta Reef was showing waves in the waist to chest high class with 15-20 surfers waiting for them. Middle Reef was again looking the best and slightly bigger while the tide was still on the bottom of a 0.9mtr Low, and there must have been 15-20 surfers out there as well. Airport Left, also in the wait to chest high range and 20-30 surfers on it. I’m pretty sure as the tide fills in with a 2.2mtr High @ 2.00pm there’s not going to be too much happening on the Outer’s, just too full and fat.
Hopefully some time tomorrow we’ll see another small spike in wave height and it’ll be happy days again.
Surfing conditions this morning were and still are perfect with the ESE-SE Tradewind providing clean off-shore wind up to 9-11knot between Kuta and Uluwatu.
Weather wise, more blue sky and sunshine for the kids to play in. Heading for a maximum temperature of around 34 degree’s Celsius.
Looking for a wave today, head south down to Uluwatu. No worries about ex-pats or locals down that way, your always welcome at Uluwatu.
Now anyone out there looking for work in the Western Australian mining area, chasing some big coin should check out our new banner advertisement from “Scotford & Fennessy”. And just think, if you did get a start there you’d only be around 3.5hrs away from holidays in Bali.
Also while I’m on the promo trail “Doggy the Man” boat charters to Lombok and Sumbawa has 7 day surfing charters on offer for just US$500.00 per person. Or go one better and charter the whole boat privately with your friends for just US$5,000.00 for the week. So take a look at the websites and see what they have for you.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,295 — 1US$=Rp8,995 — give or take a few Rupiah depending on vendor.
Lakey Peak / Sumbawa, according to one of my old friends who has been over at Lakey’s for the last couple of weeks the crew that are there are loving life. Good consistant waves from the Peak to Periscopes and no crowd. No crowd only becuase Merpati Airlines here in Indo have cancelled all flights in and out for some reason.
