****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves again for another day’s worth of surfing and weather conditions from here on your first choice surfing holiday destination of Bali.
Another wet and wintery start to the day here in Bali this morning, so there was time for a second cup of coffee and wait. Wait till the wind turned properly to the ESE – SE and clean off-shore. That was around 9.00am so I headed straight for Uluwatu, and as ya’s can see in these photos I snapped it was well worth the effort.
There was a good 5ft or double head high of swell hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections of Ulu and some mighty fine tube rides going down on both sections. Crowd wise while the tide was still pushing in was pretty low with only 28 surfers sitting between the Peak and Racetrack and another 8 surfers riding Temple’s. But as the tide got higher so did the number of surfers increase with it. On the way home from Uluwatu I stopped off and had a quick look at Impossible’s and Padang Padang. there was at least 50 surfers scattered along the reef at Impossible’s with some long 2-4ft lines peeling along it. Padang x 2 by this time was getting too full to break but there was some waves in the 2-3ft or waist to head high range.
NB: the guy in todays opening photo sequence rode that barrel for 30 frames before I stopped firing, thinking he wouldn’t come out. Then in disbelief after another 4-5 seconds inside he eventually made it out !
Surfing conditions down at Uluwatu were clean as a whistle with the wind coming out of the ESE @ 5-8knot.
Tidal info for today had a 0.8mtr Low @ 8.00am and then heading for a 2.2mtr High around the 2.00pm mark.
Weather wise down south at Uluwatu it was partly sunny and partly cloudy. But now @ 2.30pm back home in Tuban we’ve got just blue sky and sunshine. Outside the temperature would easily be floating around the 32-33 degree’s celsius mark.
Sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be still smoking through in the 5-6ft class. There were 4 surfers in the water at the time surfing the launching Pad section. NB: G-Land will be closed to all surfers from the 6th of June as it has been brought out by Quicksilver for a 1 week period. That’s surfing these days hey, if you’ve got the money you can buy any beach.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1US$=Rp9,155 — 1AU$=Rp7,585 — 1EU$=Rp12, 200 —
Kuta Traffic, if you can avoid the road that runs along parallel to Kuta Beach and the roads that feed it do your best to do so. Or you can expect traffic kaos from early afternoon through till 9.30pm, everyday.

Hi Jim,
Can’t find a tide chart on your re-vemped site. If you are not putting one in, how about just giving us tomorrow’s morning high or low.
Also I cant find a way to enter a reader’s report. If that can be set up then I will send some from Canggu.
Cheers, Doc
