****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hi crew and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves for the 1 click run down on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Firstly yesterday morning had another disapointing start to the day with wave height still only in the 1-1ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. So we called a lay day. But by late yesterday afternoon there were some nice little waves (in the rain) in the chest to head high plus region. So today we decided on heading down to Uluwatu to make sure we got you guys some good photos to check out.
Arriving at Ulu just before the bottom of the low tide to find some slick waves running down the Racetrack section in the head to well over head class. The Main Peak in front of all the cliff side cafe’s was also being ridden with a more solid double to double head high plus hitting it on the bigger set waves. I only saw 1 surfer sitting up at Temple’s but I don’t think he lasted too long. Around 50 surfers at midday in the water scattered from the Main Peak down through the Racetrack sections. Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s there looked to be a solid number of surfers spread along the reef at Impossible’s and I reckon Padang Padang would’ve had a few head high waves for the body boarders.
Surfing conditions at Uluwatu were clean and smooth with the wind coming out of the SE @ 10 – 17knot.
Tidal info today had a 1.9mtr High @ 8.00AM and then running out for a 0.8mtr Low around 2.00PM. The next moon phase will be a Full Moon coming up on the 23rd of this month.
Weather wise, not quite what we would normally expect for this time of the year that’s for sure. Since yesterday afternoon it has been on and off absolutely pouring down rain. It continued through the early hours of today and keep coming until 11.00AM. Still the odd drop or two to come this evening.
Sms text surf report from the good guys at the G-Land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be a perfect head to double head high plus. Money Tree’s was the place and there was plenty of good rides going down on the morning high tide.
