****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello again folks and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for today’s “1 click” run down on surfing and weather conditions from right here on the friendliest little holiday island of Bali.
Ok so this morning we were well and truely on the road long before sunrise on our way up the busy west coast *highway to Balian. So there was no surf check on the Outer Reefs, but we were pretty sure it was going to be pretty well waveless down in this end of the island. As you can see there was still some swell up at Balian, and some little left and right handers peeling off. At 6.30AM when we pulled into the car park there were already 15 surfers in the water with wave height coming through at a consistent chest to over head high. By 10.00AM the wind had already picked up out of the SE and cross shore. The crowd would have peaked close to 60 at one point and a little kaotic on the river mouth peak.
Hopefully tomorrow we won’t have to drive to far to find some waves 🙂
Traffic wise it was a pretty good run up the coast this morning and a smooth return trip until we got to Seminyak.
Surfing conditions up at Balian this morning were clean and glassy with just a hint of off-shore on it before the Tradewind kicked in.
Tidal info for today had a 1.7mtr High @ 7.30AM and then a Low of 0.7mtrs @ 1.30PM.
Weather wise we’ve had another mainly hot and sunny day here in Bali with a maximum temperature of around 31 degree’s Celsius.
Surf Report Archives; You know if you look above the photos on this report you will see Bali listed with the other surf report locations. A good way to get an idea of what you might get through all of Bali’s surfing calendar.
If any of you out there are already here in Bali maybe now is a good time to try some Balinese style sport fishing. surfed balian many times you have to get yhere early before wind comes up. the only thing that is bad about the place is all the shit that comes out of the river. it can give a bad ear infection and make your wax really greasy. not good after a lot of rain and gets really packed when swell is small in kuta.

I have to totally agree with this info….. The last surf I had at Balian was just after some heavy rain. The water was putrid and I received one of the worst ear infections I’ve ever had…..
