****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hi crew thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for the latest on surfing and weather information from here on best value for surfing holiday dollar island of Bali.
Seeing as there were no waves to be had yesterday we went out to see if we could catch some dinner.
Ok so this morning’s surf check on the Outer Reefs was still looking pretty small with only knee to waist high waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Kuta Reef and Airports only had knee to knee high plus waves while Middle Reef was picking up the odd waist to waist high plus freak set. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy at the time with just a hint of off-shore starting to come up.
As it says on photo No.1 we made the run back down to the southern end of the island to Uluwatu. We arrived just before the bottom of he low tide, in hope that wave height might improve after the turn of the tide and starting to push back in. Our first glance was of some chest to head high waves breaking in between the Peak and the top end of the Racetrack. Wave height did improve slightly with the occassional head to over head set wave on the Main Peak. The wind down at Ulu was blowing cross / on shore at Temple’s, more cross shore on the Main Peak while the Racetrack section was clean as a whistle. By the time we pulled the plug and packed up at 2.00PM there would have been 75+ surfers in the water between Temple’s and the Peak. Cruising home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s it was looking more like a lake than an ocean.
Tidal info for today had a 0.7mtr Low at 10.30AM and then running back up for a 1.6mtr High around the 5.00PM mark.
Weather wise another partly sunny partly clouded over type of day here along Bali’s south western coast. With a big chance of more rain later tonight.
Our sms surf report from the crew over at the G-Land Surf Camp was telling of waves in the head to over head range hitting Money Tree’s. At 8.00AM there was a grand total of 3 surfers in the water !
baliwaves.com is still offering anyone who wants to get over to the legendary location of G-Land (www.g-landsurfcamp.com) an honest 15% discount. On all packages other than their special US$275.00 for 3 nights deal. It all means money back in your pocket !!! Packages start from US$275.00 for 3 nights (no discount on this special)

We’ve all heard by now about the recent Tsunami that hit some of the Mentawai islands including the Macaronis Surf Resort (check out their website for more news from Maca’s). Most of the people affected were doing it tough enough with out the added disaster of being engulfed by a Tsunami in the middle of the night. A big thanks to the surf charter boats who immediately started taking relief supplies into the affected areas. But in order to help, it all takes money, and that’s where the good people at Surf Aid International come in.
To find out how you guys can help check out their website www.surfaidinternational.org
Surf Aid International has been officially appointed relief coordinators by the Indonesian Government.
Surf Report Archives; You know if you look above the photos on this report you will see Bali listed with the other surf report locations. If you click on Bali then when the page opens you can see every report (and photos) that has been filed from years back. A good way to get an idea of what you might get through all of Bali’s surfing calendar.
If any of you out there are already here in Bali maybe now is a good time to try some Balinese style sport fishing.
