****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the World’s surfing communities favorite holiday destination of Bali.
Well as you may have read on my last few twitter surf & weather up dates I’ve sent out over the last couple of days surfing conditions here in Bali have not been ideal to say the least. Howling Westerly to South Westerly wind reaching gusts up to 20knot plus and small waves.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs was showing wave height to be a wind driven knee high mushing out between Kuta Reef and Airport Left with the wind coming out of the West @ 20knot plus, once again. I’ll see how the morning pans out and we might take a run over to Nusa Dua down on the South Eastern end of the island after lunch, purely just to show you how it really is.
Today I’ve thrown a quick 10 wave sequence from Keramas that Ketut captured while I was away. I’m also going to open my video footage vault and throw another video clip together later this afternoon. Just to start getting you stoked up for this coming “dry season” in Bali.
I have had an sms surf report in from Leo @ Bali-Surfing.com who surfed at Nusa Dua this morning calling wave height breaking in the waist to chest high plus region. Strong off-shore wind with only half a dozen takers in the water.
Ray from the Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai islands has also sent us through another surf up date and photos so I’ll have those loaded for you by the time you’ve finished reading this report !
Tidal information just for the record has us down for a 1.4mtr High around the 7.30AM mark and then only just running out for a 1.1mtr Low @ 1.00PM.
Weather wise the wind was up early again this morning, blowing hard out of the West. We did have some blue sky showing, but now at 8.00AM the rain has re commenced and it’s not looking like a real good day for sun baking. This is the 3rd day in a row of shitty outside conditions, hopefully this system will move on soon.
Nypie Day; Yes it’s coming around to that day of rest and relaxation again. This year “Hari Nypie” will fall on this coming Saturday the 5th of March. So if your going to be here in Bali make sure you are prepared for it. As there’s going to be no “just going to duck down to the shop” on this day.
Night club danger; New’s came through to me over last weekend of an Australian having the shit kicked out of him by no less than 6 security staff in a Kuta night club on Friday night. Apparently the English or Australian owners of the bar gave the order to the security staff…. Caruso’s Bar.
Good news for any of you that want to get over to the legendary location of G-Land this year as baliwaves.com will still be dishing out a solid 15% discount off their advertised prices for the G-Land Surf Camp. All camps at G-Land will be re opening in March 2011 so if you want some un crowded G-Land get in early. Make sure you contact us first if you want that 15% rebate back in your pocket.
Be on the first trip into G-Land, book now for the 10th of March !
We’ve also been playing around with our “Surf Spots” page where we are currently up-dating with more locations, and an extra bonus of Bali street maps. So go and get yourself lost in there !

surprised there were even 6 people in Curuso’s to beat this fella up.
Drove past in the rain on Friday night and the place was empty.
Obviously did something wrong to be beaten up, maybe had more luck tuning a chick than the local kuta cowboy toy cops or fat gay pommy owner.
Not good publicity either way and it’s not very cool to see or hear of someone beaten up in a bad way, even if they do deserve a touch up.
peace out
