****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello to any or all of you surf starved people and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (’99) for the very latest news on surfing and weather conditions to come out of the the only place to come and spend your surfing holiday, Bali !
We pulled into the car park around 9.00AM, no need to check the waves first, we could hear em breaking straight away. First glimpse was showing wave height in the head to double head high range with a clean off-shore wind on it. 25 surfers in the water, but non stop waves and with the occasional triple head high freakie.
This morning we had no intentions to stop or check any other location, it was just Gung Ho all the way for Keramas. And what do you reckon after checking out today’s 60 strong photo gallery, sick or what ! When Keramas is doing it you know the local Pro’s are not going to be missing any of it. Just to name a few, Lee Wilson, Marlon Gerber, Devis Ratif, Betet, were all over it. How’s that insane barrel ride by Lee, he just kept threading and threading his way right to the end. The actuall full sequence runs for around 75 frames ! Marlon was going ballistic with some huge airs and solid gouging. Devis was doing his thing, waiting for the biggest waves to pull into then belt em off the top.
Surfing conditions remained clean and glassy through until at least 11.00AM when the wind shifted a little further around to the SSW. Even though the waves were still coming through clean as. When we packed up around 1.00PM there was only a handful of surfers left in the water.
And I also almost forgot to mention that baliwaves.com (Slim) took another surfboard up to Keramas to give to a lucky grommet this morning. So far in the last 16 or so years I think my personal and with the help of our supporters give away surfboard tally is around 70. So if you’ve got an old 5’8″ or anything up to 6’4″ bring it over for a deserving Balinese kid.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 0.4mtr Low @ 6.30AM and then rolling back in with a 2.6mtr High around the 1.00PM mark.
Weather wise we had a mainly semi over cast type day with the odd burst of blue sky heat. Temperature wise (while I was shooting on the black sand beach) was a sultry 30 degree’s at least.

Swell Forecast for the next 7 days or so is looking real good, and fingers crossed we might even see a change in wind direction and the start of our Dry Season.
I don’t know where we are going tomorrow, but we are hoping for early morning light to non existent wind. Just for a little variety and another pre season taste of Bali’s West Coast. So if you want the heads up sign up for my twitter rants.

Night club danger; New’s came through to me of an Australian having the shit kicked out of him by no less than 6 security staff in a Kuta night club. Apparantly the English owners of the bar gave the order to the security staff…. Caruso’s, Cruso’s, (some name like that anyway) Bar in Kuta.
Best Regards in Surfing
