****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi crew and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the only sure thing surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This mornings 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking like wave height was backing off (well here on the West Coast anyway). Not a lot happening between Kuta Reef and Airport Left with only 1-2ft of Westerly wind blown waves.
So we took our time, thinking there wasn’t going to be too much happening on the East Coast as well. Mistake, we first took a run down to Nusa Dua for an over view surf check on Geger Reef. There looked to be some fairly solid sized waves peeling down the reef and every now and again one would line up for a good 100yrds or so. I put it to the vote where to surf and Serangan came up.
As you’ve already seen in today’s photo gallery there was some very nice waves breaking both left and right straight out the front of the beach side warungs / cafes of Serangan. At first wave height was looking to be in the 2-3ft+ range but it wasn’t long and the set waves were hitting the double head high mark. Clean off-shore wind lasted through until around 12.30PM before swinging more to the WSW and cross shore.
Crowd wise it wasn’t too bad first up with only around 30 surfers scattered through the peaks. But by the time we packed up there would have been close to 70 out there, along with a couple of surf schools on rubber mals, great conditions to learn to surf in, maybe better learning on some beach breaks like the better surf schools.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 1.4mtr High @ 6.00AM and then only just slightly running out for a 1.2mtr Low around the 11.30AM mark. Finishing off the day with another High of 1.8mtrs @ 5.00PM.
Weather wise it was a mainly hot and sunny morning through to midday, the afternoon has seen some cloud moving in and we might even see some more rain this evening.
Swell Forecast is looking good for another week of waves and a couple of new swells in transit. The surfing focus will be mainly over on the East Coast with the continuation of WNW – WSW wind.
Ok folks, more waves are penciled in for us tomorrow so make sure you stay tuned to the baliwaves.com to stay up to date, and our twitter up dates in between.

Night club danger; New’s came through to me of an Australian having the shit kicked out of him by no less than 6 – 8 security staff in a Kuta night club. Apparently the English owners of the bar gave the order to the security staff…. Caruso’s, Crusoes, (some name like that anyway) Bar in Kuta.
Best Regards in Surfing

Not too worry if there is other websites copying my stuff the average surfer is no dumby and will know if there is any impostors. When baliwaves.com was born there wasn’t one other website giving out surfing info or photos. There was infact ! 1 other forum website only… now there are over 45 million websites on Bali. We’ll just keep on doing what we have been doing from day 1, honest surfing info and positive promo from Bali and it’s local surfers and sufing industry.
