****MIDDAY SURF UP DATE****
Hi folks and welcome back to your baliwaves.com (’99) for another round up of surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 surfing holiday destination of Bali.
This morning dawned another clear sky and a very light NNW breeze, so we loaded up the truck and headed for Canggu here on Bali’s West Coast. Even driving past Kuta beach we caught the odd glimpse of clean and glassy little waves, so once again we had made the right call.
Arriving around 8.00AM to see wave height coming through in the 2-4ft (chest to well over head high) and the wind hitting the waves from straight off shore. The right hander on the river mouth was looking the best with only 5 – 8 surfers in the water. The left hand sand bar was also producing some nice little grinders with only 5 surfers on it. While the left hand reef out the front of the warungs also had some hollow rides for the half a dozen riders.
Surfing conditions remained clean and tidy through until around the 10.30AM when the wind swung back to the West.
Tidal info for today had us down for a 1.6mtr High @ 8.30AM and then running out for a 1.0mtr Low around the 2.00PM mark.
Weather wise it’s been a clanga here in bali, tonnes of blue sky with a midday temperature in the low 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that –1US$=Rp8,750 — 1AU$=Rp8,660 — rates will vary.

Night club danger; New’s came through to me of an Australian having the shit kicked out of him by no less than 6 security staff in a Kuta night club. Apparantly the English owners of the bar gave the order to the security staff…. Caruso’s, Cruso’s, (some name like that anyway) Bar in Kuta.
Best Regards in Surfing

Hi
“Gift idea help”
I thought a good gift idea for my partner would be to hire a surf photographer to take surf shots and thus help improve his surfing as well. Any recommendations? I would prefer a local photographer familiar with the Canggu Bali surf conditions. we live in bali. thanks M

Hi Milly, actually there are heaps of “local photographers” here in Bali and they just about all have the latest camera equipment.
Try “Hendra” on 081338539989 this guys even has his own jet ski for shooting in very close.
