****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hello to all you Indo surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (’99) for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the friendly little holiday island of Bali.
This mornings surf check on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing some new swell, it actually started to show late yesterday afternoon. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left was pulsing through in the head to double head high, Middle Reef was picking up the bigger waves.
As you’ve seen in today’s photo gallery we had a pretty laid back day down at Balangan. We turned up down there just as the tide was coming off the top of the high water mark for clean and glassy conditions and set waves in the double head high range. The wind did swing off-shore for a couple of hours but was mainly just light and variable while we were on the scene. Thanks to the Bukit Board Riders Club members for providing todays camera action. Looks like the bukit boys have got themselves a well organized and solid board riders club.
The first of our daily G-Land surf reports came through this morning with news of solid head to double head high waves breaking from kongs all the way down to the bottom end of Money Trees. Light off shore wind just starting @ 8.30AM. Five surfers in the water on Money Tree’s at the time of this report (Now all we need are some photos).
Over at lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa today’s report was that this new swell all started showing over there late yesterday afternoon. This morning’s news is of solid head to well over head set waves on the Peak. The wind was coming lightly out of the NE @ 3-4knot.
Tidal info for today had a 2.3mtr High @ 10.00AM and then running out for a 0.3mtr Low around the 4.00PM mark. Full Moon rising tonight.
Weather wise it has been a top beach day, pretty much just blue sky with the midday temperature easily busting into the 30’s on the Celsius scale.
We’ve also got some new surfing / accommodation packages sorted out for those of you who want nothing more to think about except surfing, at the right place at the right time. Hit this info link to find out more.
Good news for any of you that want to get over to the legendary location of G-Land this year as baliwaves.com will still be dishing out a solid 15% discount off their advertised prices for the G-Land Surf Camp. All camps at G-Land will be re opening in March 2011 so if you want some un crowded G-Land get in early. Make sure you contact us first if you want that 15% rebate back in your pocket.
We’ve also been playing around with our “Surf Spots” page where we are currently up-dating with more locations, and an extra bonus of Bali street maps. So go and get yourself lost in there !
Best Regards in Surfing
